Like it is straight up softcore hentai.

I was bewildered about Chainsaw Man sneaking a rather explicit sex scene in on a double-spread, but the stuff in the tweet was straight up 8 pages worth of porn.

Edit to avoid double post:

To people familiar with NANA manga, where do I pick up from where the anime stops?
I believe it's chapter 42, which will overlap with the ending a little, but there are a few details different.
And I will also recommended you end at chapter 80 instead of going all the way to the end of the manga as the manga never did get finished and 80 is about the best stopping point I can think of for it for what we have, but I doubt you will be able to resist the few more chapters you have :P

I will also note that reading before 42 wouldn't be the worst as a lot of chapters have bonus bits that cross over with the author's previous work and other extra info and what not via Junko's room.

I wish you luck at stopping at 80... it may be the best logical stopping point, but... ^^;

I'm quite curious to hear what you think, as no one else that I got to watch Nana this year was brave enough to venture into the manga knowing it's unfinished.

Though I didn't realize that there was basically enough content for a sequel series of equal length in the manga.

I have actually been reading it for a couple of days now. I am in the mid 50s.

Takumi's a bastard and it is painful to see Hachi double down on her poor life choices. :)

I got my buddy to read Chainsaw Man recently. I don't think he liked that much at first, the vomit scene might have been too much for him

By the end, he said he was almost crying lol

I can see how Chainsaw Man can be hard to get into at the start.
The whole thing about Denji wanting to touch boobs is a bit grating, but thankfully it wasn't dragged out for too long, and the punchline was hilarious.
After that, it's smooth sailing.

I really enjoy CSM but wasn't over the moon like many. Really enjoy the creativity and insanity of Fujimoto's work but a lot things felt undercooked or rushed like introducing a dozen characters then killing most of them off a few pages later.

I finally understood how to use the secret BakaUpdates (MangaUpdates) advanced search filtering options! (I'll be using BakaUpdates from here on out.)

You know how when you look at any entry in BakaUpdates, there is a list of categories that this entry belongs to. Categories include things like "Magical Girl/s", or "Swordsplay" and such.

In the URL, we can add or append these category criteria as the query string like so:

category=Magical%20Girl/s

But I've always wondered, how do I concatenate multiple categories together, so I can narrow down my search filters? The answer to this question has eluded me for many months.... until now!

Use the underscore!

category=Magical%20Girl/s_Swordsplay

This is how you concatenate multiple categories together. I can specify a lot of these categories together now. And now I wanted to share my findings.

I don't know where else you can do in the webpages to concatenate categories like so... so it seems you have to type it into the URL to get the results you want.

I really need to re-read Look Back soon.

My Broken Mariko (by Waka Hirako)

WfPtQnQ.jpg

Grieving the Loss of a Friend | 1 volume, completed, licensed in English by Yen Press
Tomoyo Shiino has stood by her friend Mariko through years of abuse, abandonment, and depression. However horrific her circumstances, their friendship has been the one reassuring constant in Mariko's life—and Tomoyo's too. That is, until Tomoyo is utterly blindsided by news of Mariko's death. In life, Tomoyo felt powerless to help her best friend out of the darkness that ultimately drove her over the edge. Now, Tomoyo is determined to liberate Mariko's ashes for one final journey together to set free her dear, broken Mariko. (source)

From cosmicblizzard:
Pacing, art style, the dynamism, the dialogues… everything is so on point. Hard to believe this is the author's first published manga (she did like a short story before that, but that's about it).
I just couldn't put it down, read the whole thing in an hour and I enjoyed every single page of it. Excited to see what the author's next project is (it's supposed to start this year). From what I understand, My Broken Mariko is a bit based on her own experience, as one of her friends suffered from similar abuse. This manga feels like a way for her to put on paper what she couldn't do in real life. https://mangaot.wordpress.com/2020/10/07/my-broken-mariko/(source)[/URL

Content Warning: This work contains depictions of suicide, sexual abuse, physical abuse, and emotional abuse.

I was already sold on Fujimoto after Look Back, but jesus christ, endgame Chainsaw Man is a conceptual mindfuck.

Also one of the few manga I've read that has really started fucking with the format (though to be fair I don't think I read particularly widely)
Read Fire Punch. There's a reason so many people were excited for CSM before the manga even started

Never read a full chapter of this until today, just reading the comments about it on reddit is entertaining enough for me

But this one kicked up enough of a fuss that I had to read and wow, pretty impressive of this mangaka to test the limits of how much shit their audience is willing to put up with lol

Shaman King 1-300 END

Well, I'm glad that the Kanzenban editions were a thing, I had to find the original ch 285 to see where the story originally ended and yeah, that was not a good stopping place, but looks like the mangaka was burnt out by this point :/ Really glad that more chapters were added years later to give a more definitive ending (even if it wasn't the best, it's better than where the stopping point was originally!) I remember reading Shaman King back when I bought the first few years of the original Shonen Jump english print books, and at the time, I was way more into Naruto and One Piece. Reading through it all now, and I actually enjoyed it much more than I did all those years back and had a lot of fun with it! I'll probably read some of the spin-offs/sequels at some point, but nice that all 35 volumes were 'free' via Comixology. But yeah, guess it's time now to get to the Netflix anime at some point (and will also pick up the subbed blu ray from Discotek, whenever that becomes available, with only the dub version currently out).

Wait, where was I when this was announced? I know there's been plenty of Zelda manga before, but I didn't know about a Twilight Princess manga that's been going for almost six years.

I've been seeing the volumes in book stores for years but never got around to checking it out. Might do so as it's ending.

They did a nice hardcover of the Ocarina series this team did from what I could see. Hopefully they do something like that for this one too.

I will never read this series. Spoil me.
MC is about to confess to heroine. She knows this, is unsure/afraid of her feelings and runs away before he can say anything. MC in shambles. Goes to the pool and imagines the heroine have surprisingly graphic sex with her guy friend for 8 PAGES. Last few panels shows the MC crying while having an erection.

This is all in a shonen magazine btw.

It's been trash for a while (slow pacing, no relationship progress, garbage characters), but this is the first time the series ever went this far. Reason everyone is talking about it is because its so unexpected.

I guess the author and editor was looking for shock value to get people talking about the series again. It worked.

It's so bad that I feel dirty even knowing it. I just read it because I'd heard the rumors and boy oh boy. A friend gave me some context on what's going on in the arc that makes it even worse. lol

Basically the MC thinks he got dumped and spends the chapter wallowing in self-pity and imagining his crush (who is currently running around trying to save his ass from his insane ex) getting her back absolutely blown out by some random dude (softcore porn style). Also it gives him a boner and he cries.

What kind of insane person would even conceive of such a chapter. Then there's the editors and assistants who all rubber stamped it. It's some straight up nutcase shit.

My favorite part about RaG is that Mami somehow circles around to being the most likable character solely because the main characters deserve any misery she inflicts.

Yeah, I do not comprehend how editors were down, but I guess it gets people talking and potentially picking up the magazine to see it.
