NBC reporting this view is pointed toward the House chamber, and that capitol police have not screened any of these people, who could be armed or carrying explosives for all we know.
The police are mostly right wingers in this country and they treat right wing protesters with kids glove.
There is zero chance a left wing protest would have been allowed to get that close, we had a lot of protests in DC last year, so I don't think this is speculation.
