Starting to feel like this trailer didn't really sell the narrative well at all for anyone unfamiliar.
I asked this in the Trailer thread, does anyone know if a script for the second movie is complete? You'd think during the pandemic, a script for a second movie would have been worked on and ready to go if this does well.
When are we getting a handycam rip of the 20 minutes they showed at IMAX??? Don't let the world down dunefans.
I doubt they have even started writing a screenplay.

Profiles sound good, though. I honestly expected them to cut half of these characters, nice to see everyone is accounted for.
They should with all the down time with few big movie releases in 2020. This movie was supposed to come out last year.

It was ordered direct-to-series in 2019, which usually means they are confident in it. So I've been almost certain it'll get at least one season.
I dislike Dune Messiah, and really disliked Children so I stopped there. I love Dune, but always thought it was lightning in a bottle for Herbert based on that.
HBO usually is good quality, but I'm highly skeptical of this Bene Gesserit prequel.

I'm hoping we get Feyd and Fenring when we get the Emperor in the 2 film. Those are two great characters I hope they don't just delete or meld.

No way they are cutting Feyd in part 2. Fenrig... Maybe, but I have yet to see a single major omission in the cast. If we can get Kynes, Rabban, Jamis, and Mapes, there's no reason why Fenrig can't appear as well. Denis seems willing to trust the audience with a lot of names.

That's a shame. It's based on the utter shite work that Brian "I fuck my father's corpse" Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson did, and that stuff is some of the worst rubbish science fiction has produced in the modern era. It's *that* bad.

Desert music vibes sure but it's also reminding me of the "Age of Conan" (PC MMO) game which had a lot of female vocals in the same style (one of the all-time best gaming soundtracks, I really recommend a full listen-through of the album).

It looks.... serviceable? There's a few standout scenes, but eh, I dunno. Too sparse it felt like.
It's funny, Dune is my least favorite of the series. With each book after it me liking more and more.
Really hope the movie takes off and we get a full series.
