Because they're assuming "Holiday" means sometime after console launch but before end of year.
Personally, I think it just means day one. They were likely just keeping it vague in case of delays.

Gonna assume they're counting down to a time that SIE has announced something in the past. In this instance, the DualSense controller was revealed on a Tuesday at 4pm ET (1 hr 10 mins from now).

yeah tbh, I'm not expecting anything today. I think we got our sony fill with that R&C Rift Apart demo announcement. if the event is somewhere in early September, I would expect an announcement before this month ends tho.
Just by the sheer fact that each day that goes by we are one day closer to the launch means we'll eventually get to a day where we get news. Unless they plan to pull a Sega Saturn.

I've been playing my Switch lately and the HD Rumble makes me really want to see PS5 games make use of that. It's a small detail, but it's just genuinely neat when you feel rumble pass from one side to the other.

We should at least be finding out what Falcom's next game is early tomorrow morning. Still no guarantee that it's actually a PS5 game, but since it's releasing after July we'll at least be able to play it on it.
