Fair enough, but I couldn't disagree more. I think the art style is great and the visuals are nice and detailed and it's all very readable with great use of colour. They have really stepped it up for their first AAA game.

My grandfather was a Helldiver in the First Grand Galactic Democracy War.

I still remember his stories he told me, how he and his cadre of ever changing teammates would go out into the dark, socialist-infested darkness of non-democratic space and spread the undisputable order of freedom.

Now that Super Earth needs me, I will do my part. I already signed up for Helldiver Training 2.0 and can't wait to spread Liberty, Freedom and Managed Democracy to the Bugs and Automatons!

This theme isn't complete with the whole team screaming WHAT ARE YOU DOING GET ON THE FUCKING SHIP and FUCK IM STUCK , THERE IS MONSTERS IN FRONT OF ME and LETS GOOOOO GET ON THE SHIIIIIP.

All time good times were had with the first ones extractions. I can't wait for Hell Divers 2.

Tomorrow is gonna be one of those long days at work, but those first few matches are gonna be so great. Very excited and pleased for the team coming off those previews!

Squad based shooters might have the lowest bar for enjoyment for me. If it's even semi competent I'll have a good time, and this looks fantastic.

Well shit. I haven't used my account in forever, I remember my login email, can't remember the password, do the reset password, it asks for my DoB for verification... I was young at the time I made the PSN account and just used a fake DoB because I figured if it knew I was a kid it would lock me out of some things on the PlayStation Store like M Rated games or what have you, and I can't remember that fake DoB so I don't really know what to do.

It uses nProtect GameGuard Kernel Level Anti-Cheat, which is controversially discussed on the Steam forums. Mainly why a coop game needs kernel level anti-cheat and why nProtect, which has a not so great history of security vulnerabilities.
It is mainly used in f2p games which are popular in Asia. In the early stages of PUBG it was also used there, but they switched to a different product.

This could be a problem for the Steam deck, I don't know how well third party kernel anti-cheat systems work with linux .. if they work at all.

Game looks pretty good, it just desperately needs some kind of global illumination system/approximation (or something better than what it's using which might be IBL?). It's extremely obvious how weak the game is in that area in this shot.

I tried googling but couldn't find an answer. What's the loot situation like in Helldivers 2? I played Helldivers 1 and there was some rng loot element to it. It wasn't anything near a game like DIablo, but it was still nice to get better gear while grinding out missions for hours.

There wasn't any loot in HD1. Whatever equipment and stratagems you got was from leveling your rank. New equipment in HD2 will be from your level and warbonds (permanent battlepass equivalent).

Any game that has extensive gibbing that actually effects the enemies ain't ugly in my book. In fact more games should give such great visual feedback in real time instead of just sticking a health bar over the enemies head.

There is definitely no random loot in HL1 or HL2

I know it's a joke, but I would never wanna work for a game studio and their crazy work cultures, lmao. I do work in IT, but it's the "regular" type of IT, and that's mooooore than fine for me.

I've worked in games for 6 years, 5 of those at a AAA games studio - I've not once worked overtime/crunch. So while the crazy work culture is definatley prevelant in the industry it doesn't apply to every studio.

Nice OT iFirez! I can't wait to play this game. My usual group and I have been itching lately to find a good coop game so settle into. We really enjoyed the original, and this one looks awesome.

One question about the battle passes: do they last forever (good) like Halo, or are they timed (bad) like pretty much everything else?

Warbonds stay forever and can be bought forever too. No FOMO
