Interesting thanks !
Hm, you really think they would go over $500? Also, long time no see, Fixalas! :)
The thing is.. we will have to see how Sony plays this reveal. If they dont talk specs and just show games at the start, then theres a gulf in specs. But no legitimate rumor has ever said that, Jason even saying specs are close. If that is the case, nothing is yikes about that. PS5 will be probably priced more consumer friendly. 12 TFLOPs are just MS decision to go full native 4K, PS5 will still have enough power for amazing looking games.
Well it is a Zen 2 APU and they go up to 8 cores. Could be less but I don't think they'll go backwards from Jaguar and break BC.Why no mention of the clock speed or the number of core ?
I don't have followed the XSX news but they mention officially the console have a 8 core CPU somewhere ?
Honest question because I'm bad with specs
Should I return the 2060 Laptop I recently bought for an XSX? Is it that much more powerful?
Smart delivery and Quick Resume sound great.
$599 sounds right but I think MS will eat the cost to make it $499 to stay competitive.
Very interesting! So no more depending on a developer to make a patch? More like PC then.
Also RDNA2 is a surprise, was expecting RDNA1 with a couple of enhancements.
I think this might be reading too much into it. I really doubt they can just boost game's resolution without any work involved, or without any potential issues. I think he's referring to games with Dynamic Res being maxed out and games running in X Enhanced profiles by default. I'd love to be wrong tho.Wait, improved BC with no developer action?
This is bigger than anything else, for me. I'm still bitter they didn't improve the resolution of Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey on the X.
umm what? No, it wont be. 12 Tflops sounds incredible, but this is AMD so you are looking at 2060 performance.
*Edit: More like a 2070 actually.
DLSS massively increases performance though, it can be used with a 2060 and consoles target 4K. It's fine for 1080p.imo: yes, the console hardware is a lot more optimized for games. 12 teraflops is near 2080 cards
Hm, you really think they would go over $500? Also, long time no see, Fixalas! :)
Hard agree. Both MS and Sony should enforce this as standard.Smart Delivery is the real crown jewel here. I'm fully expecting Sony to make us buy TLOU2 twice.
I thought of that but I dunno for me the writing implies a bit more.Probably just referring to dynamic resolutions, any game that runs at dynamic res on XB1/X will almost assuredly top out at the res ceiling on XSX, so instead of dynamic res games with a 4K cap hovering at 1800p or something on XB1X, it will hold 4K. Framerate will probably hold the cap as well. Basically just a hands-off "boost mode" for games that dont get patches
499$ : All digital Edition, no BR Player, 1TB SSD
599$ : With Disc Drive, BR player, 2 TB SSD
Depends on the definition of close. Would within 20% be considered close? Closer than any disparity we have ever seen pretty much, but it would be 10 vs 12 tflops. The thing is.. we will have to see how Sony plays this reveal. If they dont talk specs and just show games at the start, then theres a gulf in specs. But no legitimate rumor has ever said that, Jason even saying specs are close.
Now Sony got what they wanted.. some hard numbers from MS. RDNA2, 12Tflops etc.. interesting to see in what way PS5 is announced and what they tell us.
Btw, does MS say how much ram Series X has? Or what type? Did I miss that in the text somewhere?
Yeah but its also an Nvidia GPU. Nvidia FLOPS != AMD FLOPS.
I'm hoping they can hit $499, but I see your point.Hi KC 😍
Yea I think so, it's still not $600, audience won't be as harsh.
I think gamepass, smart delivery, and all this tech makes me think they can't lose much on hardware
$499. I think MS is going to be willing to eat some losses to have good sales numbers and keep hype going. They need a win.499 or 599? What do you think? We need a thread with a poll. Hell this could even be even more... doubt it but still.
VEGA is based on GCN though. GCN is significantly older and less efficient per flop than RDNA2.Is this thread really just ignoring the fact that the AMD Vega 64 is capable of 12.6 tflops , whereas a 1080Ti is only 11.5 tflops and blows the VEGA away? Or is everyone just blindly buying into marketing speak?
AMD Terraflops are not comparable to Nvidia Terraflops and they never have been. I thought this was common knowledge by now.
I certainly hope you're rightThis claim is stretching the worst case scenario (which a lot seem to be doing here)
Matt's statement was made in Nov. of 2019 about XGS output not having XSX exclusives for one OR two years..and everyone now assumes two years..I don't get that.
We will likely get exclusives by Fall 2021 at the latest.
on a GTX 1080 Ti (11~12 TF) in 2018, and far from optimized.
Can't wait to play Cyberpunk on Xbox Series X.
Yeah but its also an Nvidia GPU. Nvidia FLOPS != AMD FLOPS.
Nvidia has much better silicon and better made chips or something..
I thought of that but I dunno for me the writing implies a bit more.
I hope they talk about it soon. It's my single most hyped feature they could deliver.
Well, on PC the 2070 is comparable to the 5700 XT. That's 7tflops vs 9.7TfVEGA is based on GCN though. GCN is significantly older and less efficient per flop than RDNA2.
The new architecture can be 'closer' but not extremely close or the same.. was my point. It was more true with GCN based GPUs.
Navi and Turing are closer in efficiency
If Lockhart wasn't supposedly still floating around, I could definitely see that. I just don't think MS is going to be releasing 3 different SKUs at launch. (At least not immediately)
All digital edition with 50% less storage space? Doesn't make any sense whatsoever.499$ : All digital Edition, no BR Player, 1TB SSD
599$ : With Disc Drive, BR player, 2 TB SSD
