Dude I'm massively hooked on this game, its incredibly good.
Halo 4 is the only halo that I don't replay. There are so many just standard fps combat design encounters where you fend off boring waves of robots, or use a tank/mantis to drive/walk down a shooting gallery. The worst though I think are the spaces where you fly a banshee in cramped spaces barely big enough to do a proper strafe run. In it's defense, there are still cool locations and fights, but certainly more bog standard stuff that doesn't play to Halo's strengths than any other game in the series. My 2 cents anyway.
So after being blown away by Dolby Atmos for headsets, I decided to look into Dolby Vision for games. I didn't realize that some people are already testing it? Has anyone here tried it?
I know Dolby Vision is normally a night and day difference for me when it comes to movies. Really curious to see how it fares with games.

There aren't any games with any Dolby Vision natively added to the game yet, it's all just tone mapping by the Xbox itself. Hopefully we get some games using Dolby Vision as part of their HDR soon.
The deal with Square Enix to put Outriders on Game Pass console day one was a smart move. Very good numbers on Steam.
I gotya. Have you seen it yourself? Does it seem like an improvement over the regular HDR10 implementation?
Obviously native Dolby Vision support will be best, but the article I read said it should apply DV tone mapping to every HDR game right?
It's also a game that is very easy to just lose a couple of hours to, lol. Good chill out game, I reckon.

As Sony Japan studios dissolves and these new studios are popping up, I hope Xbox is making the effort to reach out to them as much as they are to established Japanese devs, hell same for stuff like Ikumi Nakamuras new studio and Bear and Rabbit. I'm not talking acquisitions or honestly even Game Pass deals, just try to make sure this new crop of studios doesn't skip Xbox and then start the whole "defacto Playstation exclusive" cycle all over again.
I would love the BC team to make more OG Xbox games backward compatible during this gen, like Dead or Alive 3, Fatal Frame or Jet Set Radio Future (but this one has certainly licensing issues, I don't know if it would be possible...). And add Conker: Live & Reloaded to GP.

Well, Rabbit and Bear has already confirmed that they're working on Xbox versions of Eiyuden Chronicle, so you can wipe the worry off your whiteboard.

I think about horrible of a launch Gears 5 had (couldn't even play campaign) and yeah, I'm just banking on Halo not working at all on launch.

Personally, I think Microsoft would be very well-advised to add the Xbox Wireless Protocol technology into their next revision of Surface Headphones. They're fine, but it's difficult for them to compete against Sony/Bose. But if you added native Xbox support, they'd be a lot more attractive.
Those games were made by Pipeworks, who during that time were under the same company umbrella as Sumo, Foundation 9.

Managed to play some Halo 5 before the server issues. I took a break on H5 for like two years, but lately I've been getting back into it before Infinite (I'm also doing all the campaigns with a friend, and I only have H5 left). And I can finally say that I've unlocked everything I could through REQ packs. Opened my very last useful Gold Pack, and it actually feels like something ended someway. I probably won't leach lvl 152 and won't unlock the rest of the stuff not included in packs, but hey, I sticked to it and finished the game off in some way.
God, I can't wait for Infinite. Despite my issues with some of what's been shown, it's still miles above other shooters.

I think I might get to 147-8 but certainly won't end up at 152. I hope the reward in Infinite is small. 👀
If you want to open more packs, just sell, sell, sell. I only keep 5-10 of each objects, and it allows me to open a Gold pack every 30minutes or so.
I've got about 2,000 hours in Halo 5 and there is no way in hell I'm making 152. I might not even make it to 151 before Infinite comes out.

I voted Xbox because Skittles threatened to remove green apple for lime if they win, and that would disappoint me (apparently I'm in the minority on that opinion though lol)
Has anyone heard if the REQ packs are returning for Infinite? I hate them with a passion. If there have to be microtransactions, so be it, but I really hope it has some kind of traditional progression system to it for unlocking armor and stuff. I've loved working through the reach battle pass in the MCC.
Req packs were terrible, but you gotta remember that Halo 5 was kinda early in the MTX game. I feel like that game hit right as things were shifting from DLC to MTX. Now that it seems like battle passes have become the norm for F2P online shooters, I would expect they'll have adopted some variation on the Battle Pass.

Yeah, I'm halfway through 150 and have been for at least 6 months. I may hit 151 but 152 is literally a pipe dream. And this is with nearly 1200 hours of playing!

The Xbox ecosystem feels like I'm stealing lol.
MS Rewards is the quiet underdog of the whole thing. I have Game Pass for the next couple of years for free and I've been able to buy DLC for Game Pass games with my Reward points.
