I remember the ones that scared the shit out of me.

Alien/s
Predator
Starship Troopers

I had nightmares for a month after Predator and though Bugs would invade earth after Starship.

First R I recall seeing all the way thru was Die Hard, slept over at a friend and his parents said go rent a movie. Takagi's brain on the glass alongside random titties and coke.

Terminator
Toxic Avenger
Robocop

When I was around 4.

I was also exposed to other action/violent movies like the Rambos, Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, Commando, Predator.

Saw Basic Instinct when I was 11
Boogie Nights when I was 15

Played Leisure Suit Larry when I was not even 10.

I turned out alright :)

I saw a bunch of action movies when I was little like total recall, speed, die hard.
But the one I remember most is watching starship troopers when I was 5 or 6 and loving it.

Terminator. I was like 3 or 4 years old but I have faint memories of watching it on VHS.

I saw a bunch as a kid. As long as it didn't have any nudity in it I was pretty much allowed to as the violence never really affected me

a good chunk of horror movies. The one that sticks out pretty clearly is going to see Hostel and getting ushered into King Kong by my parents when we figured out that there was a lot of sex stuff in Hostel and not just horrific violence.

Would've been around 11 at the time

I was probably around 8 or 9 when I saw movies like Alien, Aliens, Terminator II, Predator, Hellraiser, the Blob (1988 version), American Werewolf in London, etc.. but the worst one was definitely Showgirls - not because of the movie's topics, but just how awful of a movie it was and still is

I mostly remember scenes that traumatised me as a child.

An American Werewolf in London, specifically the transformation scene, I must have been 4-5 years old crying behind a sofa.

Another one was A Nightmare in Elm Street, specifically a scene where Freddie's fingers turn into syringes and he sticks them in someone's arms.

Why was I watching these films so young?!

I used to . . . you know what . . . to Showgirls. But I was like 12, so not too small.

I think my true sexual awakening happened with Swordfish and Halle Berry when I was 10, after that and 9/11(Never Forget), I got way into "sexy" movies like Eyes Wide Shut and Wild Things. I had cable in my room long before the internet.

My dad took me and my brothers to see Species when I was 9 I think? Lots of nudity, probably why I remember it. Other than that I have no recollection.

The Internet
I saw Aliens when I was about 8 or so by an accident. The babysitter was watching and I had went back downstairs after being put to bed. Safe to say I had dreams for a while about Aliens getting into the bedroom. It's one of my favourite franchises now, so it didn't do any harm to me.

Poltergeist 3, and I'm literally still uncomfortable around large mirrors about thirty years later.

The Terminator and the Shining were among the first I remember watching. My dad rented Aliens when it hit VHS and I remember watching that after getting from Kindergarten I think and having my mind blown.

This one stuck with me the most, from the concept to the execution, it's just really cool.

Image totally related, result for "robocop toxic vat guy" on Google, lol

Robocop used to air on every other afternoon here in Brazil when I was a child.

Alligator, Christine, and a bunch of other horror movies too.

I saw an American werewolf in London very young (like 7?) and while I wouldn't say I was terrified (I couldn't really process it completely, so I would say other movies scared me more when I was older), I remember being quite shocked by it - I have never seen it since , but I remember a dream sequence with monsters killing the lead's family being pretty gruesome and unexpected. That's about all I remember from it, but it certainly shocked me! Also from reading about it, there is a porn theater and at the end ? :) Zero memory of that

I mostly remember scenes that traumatised me as a child.

An American Werewolf in London, specifically the transformation scene, I must have been 4-5 years old crying behind a sofa.
ha! Another poor kid traumatized by American werewolf! Movie was quite something heh!

I saw Porky's when it came out. I was 7. Saw the second one a couple years later. My mom knew I liked boobies. Didn't care.

Predator was the first Rated R movie I remember seeing.

That upset or traumatised me? Probably Poltergeist (the clown) and Night of the Demons (a lot of things). That didn't? Pretty much every action or horror movie from the 80s.

Name an R-rated movie that came out when I was 5-18 and I saw it in theaters, pretty much, starting with Halloween II.
Then we got The Movie Channel around '86 and I was watching Joe Bob's Drive-In Theater every Saturday night. It was like Monstervision, but with uncut and sometimes unrated movies, and with more grindhouse sleaze and basically nothing mainstream.
Then when we got a VCR I had my own rental card without restrictions.

None of them ever upset me, though.

This guy in my complex my dad was friends with was a manchild who showed me and my friend Tenacious D & the Pick of Destiny when I was 12.

That guy had so much cool shit for a 12 year old to see.

Edit: if we're talking traumatising, then Nightmare on Elm Street or Freddy vs. Jason when I was about 12 too. That scene where that girl gets dragged in a bloody body bag in the school fucked me up.

The very first R-rated movie I saw was Dead Again. I don't remember much of it besides someone getting stabbed with a scissor and hearing Robin Williams swear a whole lot.

The most memorable R rated movie I watched as a kid was the Shining, I think. That was R rated, right? I'm sure there were a lot more though.

I totally forgot about Porky's. If I had to guess that was my first Rated R movie.

The only rated-R movie I remember having a nightmare the night I saw it was Psycho III on a movie channel. I also had a nightmare after seeing the pg rated, The Elephant man. When I saw Aliens for the first time on a movie channel, I didn't have a nightmare, but I went into some kind of trance; a thick daze. I was freaking out to my mom, but couldn't really explain how I was feeling. I've never felt that way again since.

My family didn't give a shit about ratings, which meant watching whatever I wanted on cable and getting whatever I wanted from the rental store.

I saw all the more popular 80's/90's movies I wanted to, and a whole lot of lesser known shit inbetween. I was basically a horror buff by the age of 10, lol.

The Exorcist put my young ass to sleep.

Predator - Shit blew my mind and I wasn't even 10 years old yet.

Dracula - Monica Bellucci awoke something in me. lol

The adults around me were negligent as fuck. I should not have watched the things I've watched.
