Grabo? You take that back. 5e is awesome IMO.V5 and in canon with all the garbo that comes with it, but I've already made peace with it.
The dude posing with dead bodies and manipulating them around a Christmas tree was creepy as fuck. Has a game ever went that far?
I mean people say this but ultimately in these games you do end up in combat a fair bit it's something that they need to show.Very unhyped for this game. Out of the all the ways you could hype vampire gameplay and the dialogue that the original was known for, you decide to show... alleyway brawls? Meh? The animations are definitely budget (and that's totally ok), but maybe focus on your strengths in your trailers. It's probably because the trailer is for mass market consumption, but I guess none of the media for this game has sold me on the original V:TM tenets.
Goddamn dawg, read some crime fiction. This trailer was a big turnoff for me. I thought this was a dialogue-heavy RPG kind of game and the trailer didn't indicate that at all? And the whole "serial killer poses bodies while dancing to a silly tune" was just dumb to me and really derivative of the Joker or something. I got no sense of what this game's unique personality is if it has one.
Nossies no longer being an immediate Masquerade violation doesn't rub with me. Nor fucking over the Tremere. Nor whatever they turned the Setites into. I'm just eeeeeeeh about many of the changes.
It should be massively dialogue heavy, much more than most RPGs out there these days. It's just not that kind of trailer. Watch the E3 2019 gameplay videos for a better look at it.This trailer was a big turnoff for me. I thought this was a dialogue-heavy RPG kind of game and the trailer didn't indicate that at all? It should be noted that the majority of these scenes were made for this trailer. Especially the dancing bits. Thing is, it's just hard to advertise that sort of title in a 2 min video. This trailer was a big turnoff for me. My mistake, I think it was E3 2019. There was also a demo during Gamescom 2019.
Because dancing is an iconic part of the original. Why the focus on dancing? Is that the only social activity vampires do to lure victims?
Which neck did they fix?Lol they fixed her neck. Still no release date makes me sad though

This game is a love letter sequel to a cult classic. Expect a lot of in-joke references.
I wasn't expecting this but I'm excited.
I hope they go full on 0451 Immersive Sim on this. I want to loot every drawer and read every email, dammit.
Obviously it's kind of contemporary vampire fiction and with the the sort of nightlife you could imagine when the franchise started clubbing, raves that sort of thing is basically interwoven into the DNA of the series. Why the focus on dancing? Is that the only social activity vampires do to lure victims?
I'm laughing uproariously at the idea that one of the kindred doing something random and pointlessly cruel is somehow out of step with this franchise.
Hold up, nahLooks poor IMO, especially the animations compared to the original 2004 game. The faces look like they were posed in Garry's Mod.
Let's not forget about creating your own little ghoul and fucking her over and her whole innocent life for lulz.I mean, you had independent kindred doing all kinds of nasty stuff in the first one.
The killer that disemboweled the thugs that had killed his daughter.
Father kranker from the cult that was spreading disease throughout the city
The canibal vampire in the ruined hospital
Yeah, after hearing so much about Bloodlines 1 being an immersive sim, I played the game and... it's not that much of an immersive sim at all? All of the diverging choices are pre-baked sequences made by the developers, there is barely any interaction with the world to allow you to do your own thing like in Deus Ex. It's a fantastic game, but it put far more cards into its story rather than allowing the player to freely interact with the game's systems to make their own way through the world.I can guarantee you that they won't do this. Even the original was very spartan on how much you could interact with the world.
That has always been the case with games that aren't combat focused in the traditional way. See Prey being marketed as an alien shooter or Hitman Blood Money trailers being gunfight heavyVery unhyped for this game. Really wish they gave you more options to be nice to her and tosave her.
My thoughts exactly.man those "happy music but dark imagery" trailers are so overplayed.
also the trailer felt too much like it was trying to be fallout or outer worlds or something. i don't know like "look guys we're vampires and we do dark stuff but we're also kinda wacky lol"
bloodlines had a completly different tone
Fulfill the meme, reinstall the first game and get back to us after making this post.Looks poor IMO, especially the animations compared to the original 2004 game
We're talking about keyframed animation using models intended for an RPG that will have the vast majority of it's facial animation made using procedural methods, aka, not the type of stuff you'd see in a game like Injustice. Graphics discussion should be relative.
How are you getting that the game is going "full fps"? Even the trailer in your quote basically showed tits and people getting murdered and Bloodlines 1 certainly wasn't a murder porn game lol. It would make 0 sense for them to revive a dead IP only to change the most beloved thing about it, AKA the narrative. Not to mention that prior to this trailer you can easily find a bunch of interviews where the people behind the game talk at length about the importance of building your character and how they're making sure the branching narrative is their #1 priority. They aren't making an fps.My thoughts exactly.
Now its a little early to tell but going by all the footage shown, they are missing the tone and the atmosphere has yet to hit the first bloodlines level.
The ost so far is a hit or miss granted we haven't seen much and tbh the first VtMB was a perfect product of its time. I am very cautiously optimisitc about this game considering they went full fps this time around, which can be a hit or miss.
Not to mention folks bringing up bioshock and dishonored as comparisons is quite worrying as the game should be nothing like them. As mentioned the vampires shown are just plain jane look sans the main chic but hope there is more to it.
I'm pretty sure they're talking about the fact that you can't just with switch to third person when you want to, there are specific animations like scaling walls and I think some unique kill animations that switch to third person but otherwise you are in first person at all times. How are you getting that the game is going "full fps"? They probably meant the fact that there's no third-person camera optoin anymore, aside from specific animations (dodging, mantling, some powers). How are you getting that the game is going "full fps"? Point of reference for games like this are titles like the Outer Worlds.
