Some random thoughts on the list (EDIT post was made before I realized it was tiers and not strictly ranked, so several of these thoughts are irrelevant):
I respect the #1 choice. Wonderful game. I prefer a few games on the list to Dragon Quest XI, like Breath of the Wild and Three Houses, but it's real damn good.
Wasn't personally a fan of Persona 5 and it probably wouldn't make my list. I expected it to be high, though.
Three Houses is better than Awakening. Awakening is still a good game, though. I personally wouldn't have included Echoes at all. I think that game has too many issues to be on this list.
Thrilled to see Octopath so high. It's a great game that I think is underappreciated.
The original NieR is a mediocre game with a good story and good music. I wouldn't place it that high. Almost everything related to the way that game plays is average at best.
Yakuza 0 is a better game than the majority of the games placed above it. It's an absolutely amazing game and, along with Breath of the Wild, one of the very few open world games that is designed well around the genre.
Piggybacking off the last opinion, Horizon Zero Dawn is entirely too high. It looks absolutely incredible, but the game itself was a bit of a slog. One of the games that made me realize open world games aren't for me as they as currently designed.
Tokyo Mirage Sessions has one of the best turn-based battle systems I've personally played, and I'm happy to see it make the list. Would be higher on my personal list, but I'll take it.
If you're going to actually include Zelda games, both of the 2D Zelda games both should be much higher. I wouldn't include them in general, though.
I preferred Trails in the Sky to Trails in the Sky SC. Both good games and basically feel like halves to the same game, though.
Sun & Moon shouldn't sniff this list, and putting Black & White one spot below feels like an attempt to highlighting how bad the inclusion is. Black & White should be higher on the list and Sun & Moon shouldn't be there at all.
Final Fantasy XV is probably one of the worst games I've played, but it was so bad I didn't play that much of it. I, of course, wouldn't include it on my list, but I guess I didn't play enough to say for sure.
Happy to see both Xenoblade 1 & 2 so high.
