Ganepark32 Uzzy Did either of you get #BLUD in the end? I've got a budget of £20 and it's either this or Selaco!

Both look like fun on the deck too but the comments about the dodge roll put me off #BLUD a little.

oooh it's only £16 with Humble discount

Not picked up #BLUD yet. It's on the list but the reviews didn't make it look like an instant purchase (though my money's going on the Taylor Swift trip tomorrow)

It is absurdly frustrating to me that Logitech discontinued the G600 without making a successor.

Where is my G600 Lightspeed?

I'd get the Aerox 9 Wireless from Steelseries, but they still don't make it in white...

Just be warned that while the mouse itself is comfortable, the software is... Yeah. Pretty poor. And the mouse has no onboard memory or binding backup so be prepared to either not install the software once you reinstall Windows, or alternatively, reinstall the software and be forced to rebind everything.

1 week to the steam sale?

...oh no...

Want to point out a game we should be looking out for next month? Share your words and deeds, send me a recommendation for it, and it'll go in next month's OP.

Notable games out (or possibly out) next month include:

Nothing suggested yet!

Nothing suggested yet!
Gestalt, Hintenberg, Flintlock, Kunitsu Gami, Bo, and Nobody Wants to Die all in the same week is wallet overkill

Aaron D. Sorry for cold pinging you, but I just saw that this game is in deep discount according to gg.deals

Steam reviews make it sound like a solid game, but I was wondering if you have tried it or heard anything about it?

This game is part of this month's Humble Choice Monthly. Sadly, I've been too busy lately to play much of anything, let alone try this out. No help there. :(

Sorry for the late reply, but no I haven't played this one.

My CK-like attention is aimed at the CK/RimWorld hybrid Norland, dropping next month.

Jesus Anger Foot, Flock, Flintlock, and Schim are all potential day 1 buys. Being an indie game fan continues to be an absolute feast.

I wish someone told me how good Tinykin is. Never heard of it until it was featured in one of the humble bundles. The game is so cute and so fun.

Giving Valve credit where it's due, I remember when Steam was always about waiting for the next quarterly sale and now it feels like we're always just a week or so away from the next sale or "fest". It's been pretty good to be a PC gamer lately.

Finally, free weekend, time to give another paradox game a try

View: https://store.steampowered.com/app/281990/Stellaris/

One thing I learned during Hearts of Iron 4 free weekend was that the tutorial sucks for all Paradox games. I uninstalled it after 30min because I had no idea what I was doing.

I'll watch some youtube vids first to know a thing or 2 before starting and hope I have better luck with this one since I love sci fi.

Breachway is I believe 100% for July, just doesn't have a fixed date yet.

----

Wokers and Resources 1.0 is now live. I'm neck deep in 100+ hour affairs (Rogutech relapse) and won't dig myself out of them for months, but I read this RPS review that came across really well. Notably, the concept of the game as an infrastructure builder and simulation of developing a region vs. using all the kind of abstractions that usually go into the genre.

store.steampowered.com

Save 35% on Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic on Steam

Build a soviet republic from an impoverished country into a rich industrial superpower in a city builder with intricate production chains and a fully simulated global economy. Manage the lives of your citizens from education to work and party loyalty to criminal activity.

From that review

This is not a game about painting zones or lowering taxes. This is a game where providing running water (instead of tanker deliveries), immediately turns people into sewage factories. There are trucks for that, too, and pipes and pumps. Vehicles and buildings wear out and need repair crews, or a scrapyard to recover their ingredients. Demolishing a mine or pulling up a footpath (which are the most important things in the world) requires vehicles and workers to dismantle them and take away multiple substances. You can't demolish an occupied house at all. There's no "upgrading" a building. If you want a bigger one you must cover for its function while you wait for crews to tear it down and build it anew, a multi-stage process necessitating imports, production, and delivery of a dozen more materials.

Just bought Dead Island 2 because it was on sale. Anyone got some impressions of that game?

I liked the setting of the first one and was planning to play it in co-op with some buddies.

Also can't believe the Wukong game will be releasing in two months. Hype!

Edit: Rift of the Necrodancer also looks dope as hell. Too many great games coming out. 😩

Lots of Elden Ring talk .... you guys want REALLY hard games ?

View: https://x.com/NecroDancerGame/status/1803835421215920477

Because the DEMO for the sequel to the hardest game ever just got released

Awesome!

Absolutely loved Necrodancer, so jumped right on the demo for this.

Played the first song on medium, and was kind of "bleh", but I figured, "hey, they might make it more interesting on harder difficulties, and dear god, do they. It's amazing how they incorporated the Necrodancer feel of having to think about the ways different monsters move into a more standard rhythm game, which makes things turn into an absolute clusterfuck (in the best way) when you have to start parsing all that into song patterns in the harder difficulties.

Either way, this went from a mild curiosity to almost certainly a day-1 purchase for me, now.

I enjoyed what I played of DI2, but there's some missions that are clearly designed for co-op that you have to cheese on solo. The group finder finds the same AFK player each time I've tried it and I've no idea how to block them to (hopefully) find someone else.

I see they're still pumping out content for that game, which I guess makes sense since they have a subscription for all content.

This is my favorite 4x, but I've never bought any DLC outside of bundles.

Man I learned how consumer friendly Steam is compared to other stores.
I played Elden Ring on PS5 and wanted to buy the DLC. So I went to the store bought the DLC and didn't get any warnings or errors. I started the game but couldn't go to the DLC zone. Looked around a bit and then I remembered. Elden Ring was bought on my brothers account and not on mine. So that means I was able to buy a 40€ DLC without any warning that the original game wasn't in my account. How is this legal? I asked for a refund but they will probably decline that because I dowloaded it ofc.

I liked it a lot. Gameplay can be a bit monotonous, but the weapon variety helps keep zombie smashing fun throughout the game. The DLC areas are very good as well.

The levels are all incredible. For me the environments were the real star of the show. Gorgeous game.

My only big gripe is that the main story stops abruptly just when it is starting to get really interesting. That was a kick in the nuts. The campaign has a good length, it just ends in the worst way.

So, for some reason, I cannot load my pre-DLC Elden Ring save file. Looks like I'm gonna have to use a trainer to turn on one-hit kills and go through the base game again. Should be good a "Previously on Elden Ring" experience I guess.

Was extremely impressed at the start of the game, but the more the combat ramped up the less I enjoyed it so I ended up quitting the game relatively early.

Thanks for the impressions ya'll. Let's hope co-op worls in the game. Heard there were some problems with Epic's online services. 💀 Shame that it's not open world anymore.
