They are revealing a Wayforward game that is in a pre-existing IP. Not necessarily a Nintendo one.

Treehouse lives! Nintendo could stand to do more of them outside of E3. I love the in-depth conversations with the devs. The statement about WayForward though, if they're working on a 1st party franchise, I wonder what it could be. I hope it's Wario.
I'm gonna make a bold guess here and say this is not Metroid given the current sensitivity of that series (at least I hope not because their Metroidvanias have usually been kind of poor)

I don't think it's Metroid, but I do think it will be something Nintendo. Wario? Splatoon?

Given the character designs in their games I don;t want them touching anything related to Samus like ever.
Also I'm of the opinion that the only good Metroid style game they've made is Pirate's Curse and the other Shantae games range from mediocre to just plain bad.
So it's probably a 2D platformer...

Reminder that wayforward is a 2D specialized studio and they have been toying with HD sprites for a while
WayForward and Nintendo are such a great team-up. Really looking forward to that reveal. Also, I LOVE Treehouse! It's always fun and really hypes me up for gaming sessions. Yes, I'm excited for this!
