I really miss my Lumia Icon. Sad it was the only Windows phone I got to use. Miss the OS like crazy.
It's not necessarily about the raw performance but many applications have to be emulated still and the performance hit is massive - nothing that I would expect from a "pro" device.8cx benches on par with 8th gen i5 with much better battery life. 8cx Surface will be premium product with cost on par with Surface Pro.
Maybe running Android is possible.
I just don't think there is room for it, they would need immense 3rd party support on day 1 to compete, they couldn't do it back then and I dont see what has changed.
I've been dreaming about dual screened art device for what seems like forever...
I don't know what did they put in the surface go?did MS discover some super space age battery tech that nobody's aware of?
3rd party ODM's ARM Win 10 tablets using older SD835 and SD845 launched at $700~800 on the average so 8cx Surface will certainly launch at least more than Core Y version of Surface Pro. Fact of the matter is that the top of the line Qualcomm SoC have more transistors than the current quad core 15W i5/i7.It's not necessarily about the raw performance but many applications have to be emulated still and the performance hit is massive - nothing that I would expect from a "pro" device.
If the rumored specs for Centaurus are true & if Lite / Core OS looks like it has potential as a lightweight OS long term, I'm in.

Courier is alive! It took 10 years, but they are finally announcing it!
...For those not in the know:
Look, I love Android. I really like it as an open OS. I have tried iOS and it just not for me. But Windows OS was great. I think we are ready for another iteration.
I want a "Surface G" for gaming.
Sick of big heavy laptops and desktops.
But I don't want to pay $5000 for one.
also surface is definitely a premium brand.Any Surface attempt at this would be far more expensive than the competition, because Microsoft does not want to overshadow their OEMs.
Same, but not only on Surfaces. I refuse to buy any kind of device without USB-C.
sup bros
Preach!
Yoooo.
What the Surface Pro also needs is a 120Hz display. Their display looks ancient next to an iPad Pro (which is also much stronger than it).
Also, get a new WiFi card vendor and give us Thunderbolt.
Lmao, I remember when I got my Lumia 720 and posted on that thread saying "I just got a windows phone!".
dont do this to me
It turns out that the Emperor himself, Satya Nadella, will be in attendance. It could be something big.
