totally unrelated to threads but... a preview on Sonic Adventures 2.... on 2012? Didn't that game released on 2001 on the NGC?

Yes, and it came out on the Dreamcast the same year, months prior. But it an HD version released on PS3, Xbox 360, and Steam in 2012 as a digital download.

So what do we think needs to happen for the frequency of posts from news publications to catch up with their posts on twitter?

Some mentioned a web interface which makes sense. What else?

Not touching this shit or anything else from FB. Hopefully both Twitter and this will fail. So sad how people whitewash this horrible company all of a sudden.

No one is whitewashing anything. Twitter has for going on 15 years provided an immeasurable value to its userbase for wide scale communication and local communication as well. Think back to the BLM protests - what other platform could have been ubiquitous in use for coordination and news sharing in real time for events like that?

Threads is what people are hoping is replacing that void now that Twitter is a cesspool, acknowledging that yeah Meta has a bad history but the need for a Twitter like service is too ingrained in the culture at this point. Time will tell if Threads is it or if history repeats itself with Facebook and Twitter.

I don't get this. No one is whitewashing anything. Folks don't want to use a platform where their replies are filled with blue checked idiots and the owner is banning words that include cis in addition to directly platforming terrible ideals. If musk had bought it and shut his ass up, most would be in twitter still (not me personally).

You're not gonna see many in here saying zuck is great or meta is a wonderful company. Most have Facebook, instagram, WhatsApp so it isn't really that difficult to switch over on a platform we're already using. I doubt most care about being browbeat online by random folks that don't know shit about them though. A lot of folk just want to get the hell away from twitter. Shit, if threads takes off and actually connects to the fediverse, I'd probably just move to mastodon and interact that way.

Seems to be working on Edge mobile now. The carousel on the embeds is really nice

The image carousel will be handy to view the images from the next atrocity facebook/meta helps create and takes no responsibility for I guess. Embeds are light but going to the actual thread goes dark for me on mobile fwiw

Yes, but the preview itself is for the NGC version not the HD remaster.
I mean, it really doesn't matter but the 2012 date in the thread post just kinda messed with me lol

From what I remember, those were removed after the idiot took over and then trends went to shit
Nah, they were shit years before due to the election. Specifically on PEOPLE. But Musk decided to make it all universally terrible.

Unfortunately because of the enshittening of the Internet, only additions are easily documented. Finding the date it was removed is tough. But for the last few years, people abused the meme of Morgan Freeman breathing a sigh of relief with "Every time I see ____ trending"

So, in less than a week of existence, Threads has already consumed almost half of Twitter's total userbase, with the potential for more since Threads is tied to Instagram, which is tied to Facebook.

Twitter is only going to exist for sex workers to sell their porn to $8 weirdos, while those same sex workers open sfw Thread accounts to have normal socialization or to do thirst trap ads for their NSFW content.

It's already over.

Is anyone on Safari Mobile getting a blank facebook window within the browser opened up as it bridges you to the app when you click on a thread embed?

Man I was mostly just enjoying watching Musk eat shit but this looks like a legit decent product. Does embedding work for Discord and such yet?

Twitter already has that "old place" feeling which is a death knell for any social media site. It doesn't help that Musk is a huge moron and made the site worse in every conceivable way so it's not hard to switch to threads and never look back.

The colours make it look like they've crashed in the chill-out zone of a rave.

That's a good way to put it. You're right too, it does feel like that.

yeah the Threads embeds look soooooooooo much better than twitters ever did. That ontop of the images and video just being much higher quality is great.
