Honestly, how big was Silent Hill? Is it a Metroid syndrome style of game, people remember it to be a bigger franchise than it really was or what?
I still think Hyper Sports R would have done well. Lean into the nostalgia, produce a ridiculous pad for it. Call it Track N Field R. Sell it in the same way Fitness Boxing and Ring Fit are being sold.

Didn't expect the Switch to stay above the 100k mark let alone increase a little. It has really healthy momentum from last year and the big software line up the year will have will make sure it keeps on going. Feels like the Switch really has the best amount of good marketing but also luck and everything has been going too well for it. Everything falls right in pieces even if it's not intended.
Yes, it is. I think no game in the franchise sold over 2 million copies WW. SH2 underperformed, in fact (which is why SH3 was originally going to be more action-focused).

I'm curious to hear how Genshin does on the Switch. IMO, it's probably ripe for being a highlight if the Switch Pro has DLSS support as Nvidia now supports it.

Well the franchise is still relatively young on Nintendo platforms, needs more time to see growth. Still promising though, this game has shown the series is no longer in decline and is heading in a positive direction sales wise.
People expectations are always weird, Bond was never going to be a big seller and probably will end up around expectations (unless tonight sell-through is abysmal). Also, Disgaea 6 did pretty well considering how terrible 5 did. Now, all the other releases of the week, those probably bombed.

Initially, yes. They took it offline for a couple of months to fix it and it's doing pretty well now, AFAIK.
With digital it certainly sold better than the original even at 46k.
With sales like these on Switch I feel like Vanillaware games would benefit greatly.

It's silly considering a lot of their games were on Vita a portable system. A transition to switch would be a good move for them since the platform supports lots of AA games.

I think it really depends on the game. I absolutely think that one reason COD became so popular on consoles was their focus on 60fps when others focused on eye candy. Mainstream might not care about the 60fps itself as a marketing term but they do care about smooth and snappy gameplay in fast paced multiplayer shooters.
I don't think that was why. It simply managed to position itself at the beginning of the generation with a concept that hooked people.
