New colour for Lite and new bundle for OG Switch should be expected this year.

Just checked and of course the dude with the weird Smash claim requested a self-ban for a year lol. Everytime someone makes a dumb claim in the M-C thread they get banned sooner than later.

Ring Fit and Switch staying on top, well deserved. Clubhouse Games is also showing impressive legs. 500k+ is obviously guaranteed at this point and 1m+ might not be out of reach lifetime.

The Switch has so many evergreens, it kind of shames the 3DS in that regard tbh.

How did Avengers compare to the Spiderman release?. Maybe that would give a reasonable comparison of performance, since most of the sales would have been on PS4.

Momotaro Dentetsu (a former Hudson IP). Has been a good seller in the past including a 3DS version a few years ago. Pre-orders have been doing really well on Amazon. Releasing this year as Switch exclusive.
Thanks. Konami is doing relatively well on Switch. Some other publishers could learn a thing or two.

15 Million units sold. Imagine being someone last year who thought Switch couldn't beat 3DS Japan sales LTD and reading the article yesterday about 30 Million Switch consoles in production for this FY. Crazy.

Before the announcement of Switch Lite I thought it would be difficult to reach 3DS especially with lack of third parties support but 3DS total seems like the floor of what Switch can do in Japan right now.

Ring Fit Adventure is very impressive, I guess 10m worldwide is not impossible after all.

PS4 is collapsing.

Who did that claim?

I've made my share of outlandish claims (FFVIR selling 500k launch week got derided a lot but it wasn't that far, MHw a 500k was rightfully laughed at :p)

Ringfit over Avengers is a sight to behold.

130k FW and 320k Lifetime according to gamedatalibrary. So I guess not that impressive comparatively.

With digital added, I suspect Clubhouse Games is going to be an easy million-seller.

Joke's on you because I usually agree with your stance on 3rd party support for the Switch. I just don't say anything because I don't feel like getting grilled by a bazillion people lol. :p

Where is RFA gonna land at is the biggest mystery for sales in japan. It literally has the gap of 3mil and up to I dare say 5-6mil. Legs never seen like this before. I think the game has an extra 200k if not more sales as well

So many interesting things this week. The obvious one is that RFA is just incredible it's rapidly approaching 2 million and still sells whatever is shipped. You have to think the ceiling for this game is monstrously high, like wii fit levels.

All of the NSW evergreens are performing really strongly. With how high the swithc is potentially going to end up selling it's hard to know again just how high the ceiling for these games are. The switch may well have only sold half of it's lifetime sales HW wise and some of these games will continue selling till the end of the consoles life.

Powerpro is having really good legs and is a great sign for 3rd parties on the switch and it's pretty hard to ignore success stories like this.

Why is RFA compared to FF7R anyways?

The audience's for both the games are different.

Games which are fitness related have a wider reach of casual audience interested in them

Absolutely bonkers YTD for early September. Still 4 months to go with 2 rather big releases and of course the holiday season, so 6M seems easily possible (from this week to the end of the year, 2019 saw 2.4M sales, and I hardly think 2020 will be below that lol). I wonder if 7M is possible (3.3M more)? Last year, Switch sold well over half of its total sales in the last 4 months, but then it did have Pokémon in the holidays, whereas 2020 saw its huge release at the start of the year. Still, I think it's definitely possible.

They're both JRPGs. One is a new IP and the other is one of the most beloved entries in Japan. People back then expected a lot for the sales of 7R when it was announced (of course this was before FF became a shadow of its former self in terms of sales.

Of course people can just say that RFA is not a JRPG.

Do they?

There are several JRPGs that have outsold Wii Fit, the best selling fitness game in Japan. Final Fantasy VII is one of them.

There was also the Lite launch which was huge. My expectation is that the last quarter 2020 will be comparable to 2019. This would already be a huge year. I also think that Age of Calamity is a much stronger title in the west and is not the perfect fit for japan. But who knows what will still be announced.

Didn't the Switch Lite launch in that window last year? That was a big sales boost. With the obvious current demand, I wouldn't be surprised if Switch passes 2.4m for the remainder of the year but I don't think it will be an absolute breeze.

Ring Fit too stronk

btw anyone downplaying Ring Fit's sales in hindsight needs to get a reality check. Wii Fit was a long, long, long time ago in technology terms. The fitness industry is in a completely different place these days. For Ring Fit to do what it's doing in 2020 is a phenomenal success.
