WB should figure out how to make the Flash Force real and then they could go back in time and never hire Ezra Miller
It could be another 3-5 years before they can align schedules to shoot again. This movie was meant to be the reboot of the franchise… I just don't see them spending this much then waiting years to reshoot it.Yes. And I'm saying that's what they should do. Scrap it, save anything that can be saved, and redo the whole movie.

Yes. It's physically and technically possible to reshoot all of it. It's not probable though.
Either way, I'm sure WB is trying to figure out what the hell to do. But they need to release a statement or something extremely soon, even if just to say they are investigating.
It's kinda… all three? Is it a reboot, realignment or just a Flash film?
I get Keaton is in it, Flash goes to his world and he is in the Batgirl film which I presume is his world like in the flash film but does DC going forward hinge on this Flash film? Are all the other DC characters getting chucked out or reimagined in a Flashpoint so Wonder Woman 3 isn't a sequel of current Diana, but a Flashpoint one, same for others, they recast as they go if that comes up, say Superman, Joker, Harley etc. or keep the actors but they are from different universes and different?
Been through this. The pronouns thing isn't about Miller. It's about other people. Move past it. There is no one saying Miller is a stable or misunderstood person. It just feels like we're using kids gloves when we should be finding much clearer language against an (attempted) child predator.
As for the movie, if WB isn't willing to account for this, I hope it fucking bombs.
That's my take on it. Unless Ezra kill someone or get someone killed, they will try to release it, because that's how a corporation would act.WB will do market research analysis and if they deem that it makes better financial sense to release it, they will. If not, they won't. They certainly aren't going to reshoot it. It's either release it as scheduled or bury it later on the streaming service. Either way they move on from this headache and cut all ties with Ezra.
Warner Bros genuinely had the ability to stop this spiral had they went into action during the first big problematic Ezra Miller incident (when Ezra choked a woman in a store) prior to the merge with Discovery. Instead, at the time, they thought they could sit back and do absolutely nothing, not even put out a fucking statement which is the bare fucking minimum. It's ridiculous to be honest. I hope that DC Fans continue to call WBD out until their hands are forced to essentially do SOMETHING because the longer they stay quiet, the more they're enabling Ezra Miller which could lead to even more incidents.
WB will just put their head down and release the movie as is after a press release full of bs distancing themselves from the allegations against Erza. The trailers will be edited to focus on Batman, Supergirl, the other Flashes, ect. The most you can expect would be a renaming of the film. The movie will probably still be profitable because there will be plenty of people that just don't care. It just doesn't matter to some consumers no matters what the allegations are regardless if it's Trump or Michael Jackson, movie goers are going to turn a blind eye towards anything about the actor, who they can't name, that happens to play Flash.
This is equivalent to saying it's okay to calling Bill Cosby a racial slur because he's a serial rapist. It just feels like we're using kids gloves when we should be finding much clearer language against an (attempted) child predator.
As for the movie, if WB isn't willing to account for this, I hope it fucking bombs.
This is pretty much it. I think they either release it as is in theaters, drop it unceremoniously on HBO Max, or the third idea I like is to can it and shoot a 10-15 minute short film with Keaton et. al explaining the new status quo going forward for DC movies.WB will do market research analysis and if they deem that it makes better financial sense to release it, they will. If not, they won't. They certainly aren't going to reshoot it. It's either release it as scheduled or bury it later on the streaming service. Either way they move on from this headache and cut all ties with Ezra.
Last we heard the planned intervention fell through because WB backed out. At least according to Tokatas family.Wasn't there a report that WB tried to do some kind of intervention thing before even the Hawaii stuff got big but their family backed out and wouldn't go or something?
That is almost sure what's going to happen.theres no way they reshoot this. they'll just say, "we dont condone their actions and will not be working with them in the future, but here's the movie"
Yep, I fully expect that this is exactly what will happentheres no way they reshoot this. they'll just say, "we dont condone their actions and will not be working with them in the future, but here's the movie"
LOL yea good luck with that. The only way that happens is if they lock Ezra in the WB basement for the next 8 months.
It's not getting reshot. The scheduling issues alone make it *more* impossible, than spending money to replace Ezra. That is almost sure what's going to happen.
People who think they'll scrap a 200 Million dollar finished movie, get everyone back together one day, who knows when, including director, crew and all the cast with a new lead and shoot the whole thing again while also delaying Batgirl and other DC movies that may hinge on The Flash are delusional.
This is baffling. I was out having a TMNT / Valorant night out with friends and missed the Deadline article about this that came out 21 hours ago. When me and others said that Warner Bros. Discovery needed to speak up, I don't think anyone had in mind something as tone deaf as this:
Deadline has heard the studio has tried getting help for Miller, but the troubling headlines continue to pile up. Could you send a potential liability on a global publicity tour and have the actor anchor a huge studio franchise play?
Zaslav has several choices and he will make one of them soon. Among them: He can pull back on heavily promoting the summer 2023 film, confining it to some P&A and no publicity tour. Or he can relegate it to streaming with HBO Max and take a write-down. Or lean in toward making the movie a hit and then drop Miller if they can't straighten things out. Warner Bros did that when it dropped Johnny Depp from the Grindelwald character in the Fantastic Beasts franchise, after the actor's well-publicized, unsuccessful UK lawsuit; the studio replaced Depp with Mads Mikkelsen.
"There is no winning in this for Warner Bros," one studio source tells us. "This is an inherited problem for Zaslav. The hope is that the scandal will remain at a low level before the movie is released, and hope for the best to turn out."
Sources said even if no more allegations surface, the studio won't likely keep Miller in the Flash role in future DC films. That would mean replacing him in the future, but there is still a $200 million investment on the line with the first film and Warner Bros execs have to be cringing at each new press report.
There have been two more rounds of unflattering headlines just in the last two weeks for the 29-year old Miller, who identifies as nonbinary. The Daily Beast reported that there was a temporary harassment prevention order this week from a 12-year old and a mother in Greenfield, MA against the actor after Miller allegedly menaced the family and acted inappropriately toward the nonbinary child.
Last week, the parents of an 18-year-old named Tokata Iron Eyes filed paperwork asking a judge to issue an order of protection against the actor on behalf of their child, saying Miller groomed and brainwashed Tokata.
"Ezra uses violence, intimidation, threat of violence, fear, paranoia, delusions, and drugs to hold sway over a young adolescent Tokata," read the filing, which was obtained by multiple outlets.
The 18-year-old's parents allege the two met at Standing Rock Reservation in North Dakota when their child was just 12. The parents allege Miller gave Tokata alcohol and drugs, flew the child to London and to places such as Vermont, New York, California and Hawaii. This past week Miller deleted his Instagram account in the face of the North Dakota tribal summons; the actor allegedly mocking authorities about their whereabouts.
Tokata posted a video on Instagram defending Miller.
"It's nobody's business and nobody is owed a story or outcome," Tokata said in the two-minute video. "This is my life and these are my decision and I'm disappointed in my parents and the press — in every way."
Prior to the recent news about Tokata's parents' allegations against Miller, the actor was arrested twice in Hawaii for a dust-up at a karaoke bar in March followed by an arrest for second-degree assault at a residence a month later, for allegedly throwing a chair at a woman at a private party Miller attended, cutting her forehead. During the first incident, the Hawaii Police Department Hilo Patrol reported that Miller became "agitated" when patrons began singing "Shallow" from A Star Is Born.
Yea
"Miller began yelling obscenities and at one point grabbed the microphone from a 23-year-old woman singing karaoke (disorderly conduct offense) and later lunged at a 32-year-old man playing darts (harassment offense). The bar owner asked Miller to calm down several times to no avail." The actor was arrested, and charged on both offenses with bail set at $500. Bail was provided and Miller was released.
Two days later, the couple who lived with Miller at a hostel filed a restraining order against the actor after Miller returned home from the karaoke bar, and allegedly threatened to "bury" them. Miller reportedly stole the wife's passport and husband's wallet. By mid-April, the restraining order was dropped.
An even more disturbing incident happened in April 2020: A video went viral that appeared to show Miller choking a woman and throwing her to the ground at a bar in Reykjavik, Iceland, an incident that occurred after Miller was confronted by pushy fans. Miller was escorted out of the venue.
It feels kind of shitty putting Snyder there alongside Miller and Heard, especially considering Snyder supported Fisher and vice versa.
Never mind new accusations, let's go with the ones that we already have right now: the Iron Eyes accusations. Let's say that Gibson / Tokata changes their mind and say they were indeed abused and groomed in the upcoming months, if not something worse than this. If a tragedy happens, the Iron Eyes family has already gone on record saying they reached out to WB trying to resolve this situation privately and get both Gibson / Tokata Iron Eyes and Ezra Miller professional mental help:It's not getting reshot. The scheduling issues alone make it *more* impossible, than spending money to replace Ezra.
There's little repoint remaking it, if you can't bring back all the cast that show up in other DC movies.
But before everyone posts that one quote from Variety again, I think they should scrap it, and do whatever reshoots Batgirl etc need to have them make sense without it.
People stick their heads in the sand whenever I talk about the potential liability that WB will face if they release this thing and Ezra does something to a fan of the movie like the things they have been accused of. If WB put out a movie starring Ezra as a role model, they will be indelibly associated with whatever Ezra may have done.
Same as Subway and Jared. And at least some of the suits are going to be well aware of that. Unless they're seriously thinking about doing the full marketing budget, putting this thing in cinemas isn't going to make them all that much. Same if they drop it on HBO Max.
If they make a single *cent* on this film, and Ezra harms a kid who loves the character in the movie, WB will end up paying that money out tenfold to the family, etc.
Eat the $200 million. Skip to Batgirl, etc.
After several weeks of detoxifying from alleged drug and alcohol use with Miller, Tokata traveled to Brooklyn, where it turned out she was meeting Miller instead of another friend she had initially told her parents she was staying with. According to the petition, Tokata and Miller were later spotted in Los Angeles and Hawaii, during which the actor was arrested twice and a temporary restraining order was filed against him. Tokata's parents claim there were discussions with the friends and family to attempt an intervention and include Warner Bros. and Miller's mother, but the company and his mom allegedly backed out "of the professional intervention efforts." ET has reached out to Warner Bros. for comment.
Just release the damn movie and publically acknowledge Ezra's misconduct.
I can't believe there hasn't been any resolution yet. They are a high profile celebrity seems like they would be easy to locate.
Turn it into a who frame Roger rabbit sequel and just have the flash as a cartoon rabbit drawing
Turn it into a who frame Roger rabbit sequel and just have the flash as a cartoon rabbit drawing
Dont even explain why, would make the film 10 times more interesting
I think the problem is, this movie is supposed to set the stage for all of the future dc universe projects. Supergirl is introduced, other characters are in this as well and this makes changes from the past movies to introduce a new story going forward. Nevermind that Keaton and his Batman returns in this and he is also going to be in the new batwoman movie and appears to serve a mentor role going forward.Warner will 100% release this movie one way or another, they have too much money riding on it and spending more money to unfuck it likely won't make it more profitable in the end.
At this point in time I think they will release it in theaters as is, Ezra is still a grave concern since they might fuck things up way more, but right now this feels like a Baby Driver situation where Ezra will be dumped by Hollywood following the release of the movie.
Ideally they should trash their $200 million production or add another $100 million to reshoot a significant portion of it in order to remove Ezra, but neither is acceptable for Warner either.
Release the movie, have it earn some it's budget bad and then forget it ever happened.
I would 100 percent support a complete reboot of every character and every actorThey threw away CNN+ they can do it with this movie. Use the Keaton scenes you can cut out for a new Dark Knight or Batman Beyond movie and reboot the entire dceu again from scratch. Gal ain't that good of a Wonder Woman either.
I just don't think it makes sense from a money perspective. There are just too many projects tied to this universe, some already filmed, some in the process of filming. From Black Adam, to even Peacemaker to a lesser extent. Then things like supergirl. Nevermind Aquaman 2 is getting close.Complete reboot makes the most sense. The foundation from the start of the dceu was broken beyond repair.

Complete reboot makes as much sense as the idea of 400 million people out there donating 50 cents to WB to scrap this project so that WB doesn't take a loss. While both technically could happen, neither are a likely reasonable outcome of what will happen.
They'll just recast for future movies. At the very least they likely need to edit the ending and kill off the character somehow unless they are going to try and address his disappearance in a future movie without Ezra
Yeah, actually showing a replacement at the end of the movie is not necessary. They can just recast when they want another Flash appearance.
Yeah I'm cool with that.
