I thought Battlefield had this years biggest fall disappoint in the bag but this game just blew by it for the lead in the last few weeks.
I feel that most companies have replaced or remade their engines at the start of PS4/XboxOne gen, while Bethesda keep just trying to paper over the cracks of a really awful engine. With the money they have made they should have made a new engine by now not using a modded creation engine that still has all the same issues that its had for years. It surprises me they continue to make the same mistakes over and over. They really are one of the poorer largest companies out there in terms of tech, their other engines for single player games are fine, its the open world stuff thats a disaster.
Battlefield 5 is actually really good though.I thought Battlefield had this years biggest fall disappoint in the bag but this game just blew by it for the lead in the last few weeks.
With no BR until March it's DOA in my opinion. This Fall is already too packed as is. I have zero desire to buy another game as I already have too much to play. Should have delayed it until it is done.
The real pros run with their eyes close, that way your brain is rendering nothing which gives you infinite fps.
Console versions don't suffer heavily from this, does it?Uh, is there a way to get a refund on my PS4 preorder that doesn't involve having to deal with some butthole from customer support?
Fallout New Vegas is great, play that. And I was going to make this my first Fallout game.
Where do I go now. I am lost.
lol
BF was here before the BR trend and it will be here after. Can't say I feel the same way about Fallout 76.With no BR until March it's DOA in my opinion. This Fall is already too packed as is. I have zero desire to buy another game as I already have too much to play. Should have delayed it until it is done.
Like a wise man once said, if this was a car the government would step in because so many people would be dying.Jesus, you guys are so salty about this game. Lol.
I had 4 hours of great fun with it last night and I'm bummed I can't play more tonight.
People shrugging this off are forgetting that this is no small part what makes the situation different now. Yes, it's a engine thing that's a massive YMMV issue. That's not particularly consequential for single-player. MMO format? Disaster.

I feel as though the running excuse of not updating their engine for fear of inconveniencing modders (or whatever other reason) has run its course. A fellow on another forum that has modded/worked with the engine has a fantastic break down on how poor this engine is (Credit to Einhanderc7):
I'm sure this is just the tip of the iceberg. People have been turning their games inside out since almost 2 decades now, there is no way in hell there won't be a ton of exploits and hackers within the first week.
