After giving it some thought, I have to say that there have been some great games this Gen with Bloodborne being both a 10 and my GotG.

Also:
- Divinity Original Sin 2
- Zelda BotW (prob. #2 of this Gen)
- The Witcher 3 Blood and Wine DLC
- God of War
- Life is Strange Episode 4
- Horizon Zero Dawn

all have an argument for being in my 9.5-10 range.

I don't think I've played a 10/10 game yet. I don't think I ever will. I don't think I need to. But I would still like to leave the spot in case it ever happens. These games end up being the best experiences and will resonate with me for years to come:

And while it predates the current generation by a year, it did only arrive to my platform of choice during this generation, and as I still consider it the most incredible gaming experience of my life, I'll add it here:

For sure:
The Witcher 3

Maybe:
Bloodborne (The souls game before this did not click with me as much as this one, loved the aggressiveness of it). But then again do not feel the need to try out the dlc, I had my fix of BB. Plus find it a bit daunting to get back into the game hahah. Also think the story is a bit too hidden, you really gotta watch youtube vids (love the lore)

DOOM. Super refreshing, just good old' fun.

Just short of excellence:
Yakuza 0 (and Doom) super refreshing! Needed games like that to detox from all the 'AAA-games'.

GoW. Axe, 'nuff said! Slightly let down by the bosses (lol at that one troll being a legit boss)

Horizon. Machines were top notch, maybe would have liked a bit more dino aspired machines but still amazing. Game was let down by side-quests (witcher 3 spoiled me) and the human combat.

Until dawn was a pleasant surprise and unique. In it's genre, its great.

Arkham Knight. Did not even mind the batmobile, liked it quite a bit (just used a bit too much). Again, main issue was bosses (deathstroke)

Most disappointed:
Uncharted 4. Massive Uncharted fan. But 4 was average at best. Uncharted 2 and 3 are much better.
It was not what I expected I guess. Really disliked the backstory and the brother I think. Pacing was off (which made the combat sections feel far apart).
Talking about combat, great on paper, but was Drake so vulnerable. Uncharted is all about movement, and not standing still behind cover. But as soon as you would attempt anything in 4, may that be the rope, takedowns etc you would get shot dead. Maybe they went for realism, but wrong choice.

Bloodborne, The witcher 3 and Horizon Zero Dawn immediately come to my mind. Dark Souls 3 is nearly a 10/10 also.

These might not all be "10/10," but they were some of the experiences that defined this Gen for me.

Bloodborne
Horizon ZD
SOMA
Observer
Mario Odyssey
God of War
Resident Evil 7 VR

Botw, Mario Odissey and Xenoblade2 with the expansion pass bought (without it RNG can Ruin your game by giving the wrong blades to each character)

Polybius in VR. an absolute trip. the insane levels, amazing tight gameplay, mesmerising music.. i loved it so much that i just have to give it a full 10/10.

EVEN THOUGH it had a glitched trophy that robbed me of the platinum... argh, that still pisses me off.

Undertale

Probably Bloodborne as well.
Can't think of any other game that I would score this highly.

BOTW, UC4, Last Guardian and Bloodborne are all 10/10s. Maybe GOW too, but I have to replay it.

Super Mario Odyssey
Breath of the Wild
Bloodborne
Overwatch

I haven't played a ton of games this generation I'd consider 10/10, but those are the immediate standouts.

I'm playing DOOM right now though and this game is wild. I'm loving it, so it might make it in there soon.

10/10 = A game that is top level fun, that I can't wait to play, and that is excellent technically.

Witcher 3 = I had more fun with this RPG than any other in my life, and I'm a huge RPG fan. And it is technically impressive visually and aurally.
Monster Hunter World = I put so much time into this game and had a blast for hundreds of hours. Beautiful game with beautiful systems.
Diablo 3 Eternal Collection = This game started out a 7/10, but has firmly turned into a 10/10 over time. Couldn't put it down for a good couple of months.

The Witcher 3 is probably the only 10/10 for me. Easily the GOTG.

Other games that are really close:
Forza Horizon 3
Breathe of The Wild
Ori And The Blind Forest
Inside
Yakuza 6
Cuphead

For me it was Celeste, Inside and The Last Guardian.

Horizon came very close but in the end it got repetitive. God of War also came close, but was too short. Bloodborne didn't live up to the hype, I would give it an 8/10.

The Last Guardian, Ori and the Blind Forest, Mario Odyssey, Hollow Knight, NieR: Automata, Overwatch, Undertale, OneShot... I think God of War just ever so slightly misses the perfect 10 mark for me, but it's damn close.

Horizon and Bloodborne are basically everything Ive ever wanted in a game to the point Im largely done with games since they basically hit the peak I always dreamed about.

I would say only the Witcher 3. Not perfect (I think perfection is a false concept anyway), but a real masterpiece in fantasy.

After that would be:

GoW
Horizon
Uncharted 4

Haven't played the The Last Guardian yet.
