I dig the dark tone but the CG and when Venom speaks is very off putting. This was always going to be a hard adaptation to live action anyway.

ten seconds in and it's already doing that thing I hate where the trailer cuts several lines of dialogue into one terribly edited sentence

"I always seem to find myself questioning something the government may not be looking at."

That doesn't even really make sense as a sentence

Oh my god, thank you. I was going to complain about that but thought it might come off as nitpicking.

That was one of the most obvious cases of a trailer editing different lines together that I have ever heard. No exaggeration, I don't think that has ever stood out to me as much as it did her. And the sentence doesn't make sense.

I like how Venom looks, but I can agree that even I could come up with better dialog than what they showed. =/
Will watch purely to see the Venom fighting and animated because it looks pretty good.
Though they should have gone more horror, more gore and stuff probably. =x

"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like a turd in the wind."

From an artistic perspective, I get why they made his face resemble Spiderman's, but is there an in-universe reason why they look similar? (mainly the eyes, I guess)

it's really bad, and it's pretty obvious the other times they do it in the trailer too

Oh wow.

That final moment in the trailer is awful.

What is the final line Venom has, "Like a turd in the wind?".

Sony must be aiming this film squarely at the 12-16 yo boy market if that's the style of humour they are leaning on.

And shame on this film for reducing a major talent like Michelle Williams to just 'the girlfriend'.

I'm sorry to hear that. You guys have been hating on this since it was announced.

I'm a 90's kid that lived on shit like Venom and Spawn, and very much look forward to this.
I can agree, the heroes/villains are just different from the Marvel stuff which are often so human like.

Personally I had no problems listening to the audio with headphones on.

This looks like a hot mess.

Any transitional CGI (Where it's both hardy and venom) looks absolutely horrible..

The initial transformation (As seen in the first trailer) doesn't look any better, and the "we are venom" part at the end just.. doesn't feel finished, maybe? It suffers from "throw a drop shadow around his cut out head and forget to color time it" -- I'm staying far, far away from this piece of poop rolling down the street in the wind.

The boss dude's symbiote reminds me of ZZZxxx, who even among his species was considered crazy

This is gonna be exactly like Bright: a terrible movie that like 12 people on here that don't watch movies try to convince themselves is actually great because "it kicks ass!"

I remain cautious on this one. I want to like it, I like the venom character and his design here is good (spotty cgi aside). But I just can't help feeling this is going to be bad. Some of the dialog in that trailer was truly awful and doesn't instill me with confidence.

Looks dumb as fuck. Looking forward to it.

Also lol at that attempt at humor at the end.

Because it's a comic movie made by Sony.

I probably live for Venom more than most (hell, a ton of us in here love the character same as you, probably more), but I'm good on it with this level of quality.

Looking dumber and dumber to not have a white symbol on Venom since him and Riot look like the same fucking character. Guess LEGO Batman had a say in the colors.

LOL half-way through watching the trailer, I was thinking while it doesn't scream quality, it seems watchable, but then it just gets worse, finally culminating in that amazingly awful 'boss fight'. Of course, of course the bad guy had to get his own symbiote.

Forget about your dumb Spider-verse, Sony, if this is the best you can do there's no way it can succeed.

Some of you are super damn picky, for a movie about Venom, it looks awesome.

It has the basic foundation
Action
Violence
Guns

That's all you need.
