I just hope that Brad being for RDR2 doesn't mean that the last part of the final day will just be multiple people just being insufferable. That's what I hate about the ends of these podcasts, it becomes less about consensus and more about being stubborn and tearing down other games.

Eh, Fortnite and PUBG do really different things with that framework. I wouldn't say Fortnite builds on PUBG beyond the basic premise.

I feel like this year has a lot of good games, but not great games. God of War, RDR2, and others are good, but they have flaws when it comes to either story, gameplay, or anything else.

I forgot Abby was meh on PUBG. Meh on PUBG, meh on Dead Cells, she truly is the best Giant Bomber.

People think RDR is going to win? If Jeff is against it, there's almost no way it wins. Jeff is the most dominant voice in the room, followed by Brad, followed by Dan. Two of those people are HIGHLY anti-Red Dead.

For that matter, I think Jeff has only "lost" GOTY debate... once? Skyrim beat out Saints Row (he was right then, and he is still right now). Every other year, either his game has won or he didn't have a horse in the race, negative or positive. Anything is still possible of course, and I'm not trying to say that Jeff's opinion is the be-all, end-all, but looking at the way these talks have historically gone, I just don't see it.

The first two, no. Jeff and Brad being actively meh at best on GOW means it could get outranked by ITB, which seems to be well liked and at least respected. A lot of people on the staff seem to like DBF maybe more than it deserves, and the others don't have anything substantial against it. I could see it make the list and RDR2 not make it at all.

If Destiny 1 barely made it to Top 10 once, and Destiny 2 getting on Top 10 last year, I'd be genuinely surprised that Hitman 2 doesn't make it on their Top 10 at all. They all seem to enjoy it to some degree universally.

Having got a few hours in to Act 3 in DQXI, I can safely say there is no way Jeff would ever finish that game. I don't think he would even be able to muster the enthusiasm to finish Act 1. He says it clicked with him but really, he barely played it.

I'd say Tetris Effect and Dead Cells switched. Some of the crew seem to be much more passionate about Dead Cells, whereas Tetris Effect is just satisfactory to all of them.
