Thanks! I somehow missed that category already being listed In your previous post, my apologies lol.

I wanted to ask since I did see Noisy Pixel place Sonic Frontiers in particular as "Best Adventure", and wondered if that counts for eligibility for your category list as a Runner up. Otherwise, thanks again for the response.

I moved it to the Best Adventure category. Unfortunately both Pentiment is the runner up by 5 awards in that category.

8 will never be a fair count. ER can go for max 7 wins. Japan Game Awards are never given to west games, which makes it unfair to include them. I think 8 is the max number of main goty awards a game can win.

Well if we go with your thoughts, 7 is gonna be the max now, since apparently the sxsw game awards have been discontinued to streamline the festival.

The Japan game awards did give it to Ghost of Tsushima as well as monster hunter rise, tho they probably did cuz of the japanese setting lmao.

Capcom is a Japanese developer but yeah...Japanese game or Japanese setting.

Yeah it seems from what was said in Wikipedia it sounds like it was just asked during a panel or something. Maybe official confirmation will happen shortly.

Also will SXSW be removed from the major awards or will there just be a note about its discontinuation?

It has like 2 names (Titanium Awards seems to be the common one but its also being known as the BIG Awards) all under the Fun & Serious Game Festival or BIG Conference (I'm honestly not sure).
Not gonna lie, I've been pondering about them for a while now. They are technically an award show and they have been doing it for much longer than SXSW. I figure they could be added now that SXSW is no more. I do like that it is a European award show since most of them are from the US. The only problem I'm seeing is a lack of showmanship or prestige from this award event.

Yeah think it could've had 8 with BOTW if SXSW didn't get canceled for last year, still the most dominant year ever, ~74% of award won is mad and wont be surpassed ever again I think (unless you have a huge major hit come out in a 2021-type year), total GOTY's might if more publications start doing them.

Time to call and wrap it up?

I wonder if TOTK will be as dominant this round. Happy for the ER, I'm sure w/e they have planned next will be spectacular.

Just saw the new poll, I think BOTW and Starfield will be frontrunners if Starfield really comes out with a bang, good impression and high reviews, otherwise ToTK seems like a lock to be honest.

Third pick would be Silksong, if it ever comes out.
