Having finished the season, I'm not really smitten either. Season felt like an empty cart spinning its wheels, like it needed to get to being the next Game of Thrones, and after seeing that played out, that's just not what I'm looking for anymore.
The other part is the billionaire-onomics that I felt seeping through the cracks. Oh, did you know UBI is bad when people don't have jobs, despite this universe getting everybody killed on the goddamn job? Are your space god billionaires not merciful?
"Daaaaa-aaad, Bezos is trying to teach me to love supply side economics again!"
They probably could have sped things up quite a bit, since they also had time to add all the Mars and UN stuff, which didn't really feel 'necessary' in terms of plot. Previous seasons were more economical with their time versus the material, or so it seems. Other than that it still feels like the same show, but it's also kinda 'off' in a way.
btw, in episode 6, when they enter the hole, you can clearly see the set wobble. Hehehe. Clearly the big bad here is Ed Wood for teaches us all to see that.
