The only reason I was going to get it was because it was coming to Switch. So, now I'm just waiting. I may get it on PC at a deep discount.
It's a shame too, as it was a super exiting announcement, making Switch owners feel like third parties have changed, and are putting games on the platform, no fuss at all. Then it turned out, they did the same thing a lot of other third parties too. I think I would rather give my money to developers with timely and exclusive games, like Square and Sebastian. There was a time where Dark Souls Switch was my most anticipated game. Playing one of my favourite games of all time on a handheld? Heck yeah. The delay has unfortunately killed a lot of my buzz to the point where I didn't even notice other versions launch. I'll of course get it but I'm not as excited as I was last month.
no. iv never played dark souls before and i dont ever plan to. iv seen a few gameplay vids, and i just dont get the appeal
Any specific reason why the game has been delayed? I mean, the Switch shouldn't have any issues running a game from the Sixth Console Generation?
No specifics were given but if you read a lot of stories from indies and other devs who submit for certification with Nintendo there have been times when Nintendo catches things the dev didn't.Any specific reason why the game has been delayed? I'm almost done with the remaster on PS4, my first time through the game. It is sometimes frustrating, awkward, depressing and ugly. Much more often it is rewarding, beautiful, and the combat/exploration is extremely deep and satisfying. Some of the game's areas are better than others but it remains nothing less than a masterpiece. My biggest complaint would be just how obtuse it is. The game just does not bother to explain itself. Which makes it interesting as you unravel the puzzle, but can be offputting from time to time.I'm in the same boat. The game seems to get such massive praise from hardcore gamers simply because of the difficulty and the frustration. From all gameplay videos I've seen, it's always struck me as a frustrating, awkward, depressing, ugly game. I've never been tempted to play it, and that won't change with a switch remaster. I know that many people love games where they need to die a million times and memorize enemy patterns perfectly in order to progress, it that's never appealed to me, and it looks like the only appeal of this game. Every other aspect looks horrendously outdated.

Reading through that thread about crappy boss fights, I may skip this after all.
I had the suspicious these games were artificially, "edgy" hard and that thread confirmed that.
But somehow, I've finished every Souls game (and Bloodborne) except Demon's Souls. Because they just kept pulling me back in. It's hard to put into words what makes it different, but you should give the series a chance.
I still plan on getting it but on sale.
Question for those who've played the PS4/XB1 version - Is the 60fps a game changer for a game like this?
I want this too...Since it's delayed, may as well give increased incentive for people to purchase it.I think I'll just wait until they announce the Trilogy for Switch now...
