Honestly, do we even know if there's gonna be an entire second fighter pass? Assuming it hasn't been mentioned somewhere I kind of have my doubts, like IDK I just kind of picture them making 2-3 more characters and then calling it a day.for some reason i feel like dante is gonna be in the game, but hes not gonna be the fighter 5. rather he is going to be the first fighter of the second fighter pass.

We don't know anything about season 2 other then it exists.Honestly, do we even know if there's gonna be an entire second fighter pass? Assuming it hasn't been mentioned somewhere I kind of have my doubts, like IDK I just kind of picture them making 2-3 more characters and then calling it a day.
I'm not gonna disagree with that or say I personally want Crash because that'd admittedly be a lie, but what I am gonna say is that everything gonk about Crash is gonk 2x in Rare's designs and that Sakurai somehow prettied those the hell up to a not-insignificant degree so like. . .eh? In the interest of objectivity any visual design is probably going to pan out better than whatever mental image people cook up, give or take an idea.
Unless you mean literally literally, in which case I think you're forgetting who's making this game LOL
I can.Maybe the three fingers is listing off like "it's almost like you get 3 characters for 1!" type thing because they have 3 different alts, but I can't really think of a character that would work like that.
"Related to Nintendo, but not directly them."
"The character could be relevant with or without Nintendo."
"Weird situation."
How could we have been so blind?

Sakurai does love listing stuff out
I agree with you on Steve but Crash looks just as cool as DK and Banjo. I'll take anyone but another anime style character.I just don't want it to be an ugly character like Crash or Steve. I'm good with anyone else.

I mean the only reason to think they wouldn't do a 5 character pass for Season 2 is that Nintendo sometimes just makes bizarrely incompetent business decisions for no reason. Other than that premise, it's a pretty safe bet since there's a reason why every other fighting game has season passes for a group of fighters and why they announced Season 2 by directly calling out how successful Season 1 was.Honestly, do we even know if there's gonna be an entire second fighter pass? ...I didn't used to hate Digimon but this account is making me consider it.
Nintendo doesn't own the IP, they just own the majority of The Pokemon Company which owns the IP.
The weird thing about those hints is that they perfectly describe Bayo and Banjo... And KOS-MOS, who's been deconfirmed apparently?
So to my recollection that leaves...
- Super Mario RPG
- Hyrule/Fire Emblem Warriors Original Characters
- Hamtaro (Nintendo made the GBA games)
- Ken Griffey Jr.
- A Uniracer
- Every Other 90s Rare IP
- Ash Ketchum?
- Dr. Kawashima
- Mickey Mouse (Game & Watch, that terrible GameCube launch game, Epic Mickey was published by Nintendo in Japan)
- Chase McCain from Lego City Undercover
- Devil's Third (that'd be hilarious)
- Fatal Frame
- Go Vacation people
- The World Ends With You/Bravely Default/Octopath (published on Switch by Nintendo outside of Japan)
- Famicom Tantei Club
- Bill Nighy from Detective Pikachu: The Movie
Nintendo owns the IP. TPC couldn't just go and make a Pokemon game without Nintendo, Nintendo owns all the characters and PokemonNintendo doesn't own the IP, they just own the majority of The Pokemon Company which owns the IP.
This is the exact kind of obfuscated hazy ownership Zippo was talking about — Eiscue is IN
It was a combination of things IIRC. PS1's low resolution displayed many shaded polygons better than when they are textured hence why theres only one texture on the entire model (his back). They also opted to use vertex animation instead of a normal rig so doing that through many polygons allowed him to be better animated than other 3D characters at the timeCrash was probably designed the way he was because the PS1 couldn't really do 3D that well.
He's basically just a triangle with some more triangles and details you could add via texture.
I've had this conversation probably a half dozen times on this website and every time I come away more confused than beforeNintendo owns the IP. TPC couldn't just go and make a Pokemon game without Nintendo, Nintendo owns all the characters and Pokemon
While this is all true and I've tried to be as factually correct about NMH as possible both here and in the NMHIII Info/Speculation thread. I think people are reading too far into everything. If the comments are "sorta kind first party" "like Bayonetta" and "possibly relevant with or without Nintendo" I don't see how that translates into people thinking it's a co-own IP.This was sort of alluded to in a few of the posts shared between me and 11.0 but the big questioning point that a lot of Suda fans have had about No More Heroes is that, even setting aside the fact that the series was only brought back because Nintendo requested Suda to make it, a lot of us have been kind of confused where Grasshopper would've found the capital to reacquire at least the majority rights to the franchise (and I stress this because at the early 2010s the full rights were still attributed to Marvelous) when signs pointed around late 2018 that they'd substantially downsized on top of Nintendo now being a major client for them, much like GungHo and Kadokawa (the former of which are their parent company and the latter of which were an investor during the seventh gen). NMH3 having a budget and TSA having all these cross-company collabs (not just indies but partners like Capcom, EA and animation studios like Kamikaze Douga) despite being an "indie sized" endeavor was suspect back then and even more curious moving into NMH3 given that Grasshopper themselves are still really small as of present.
The popular theory for the time being was that Nintendo may have signed a marketing/distribution deal which may had resulted in enough money for them to basically allow Grasshopper to take the reigns back on the franchise, with the series mainly targeting Nintendo platforms. Passing Assassin made the point last night that Zippo's correction still works in Travis' favor given that TSA was eventually ported to PS4/Steam multiple months after release at Marvelous' behest, though this was clearly a much smaller priority affair and the series is still mainly Nintendo oriented as of right now. Theoretically NMH3 could eventually land on other platforms but given the TSA ports were an absolute sales bomb and since it was a small game less designed with Switch's capabilities (NMH3 from what we understand is most likely going to make use of split joycon controls a fair deal), it's not looking too likely that NMH3 will get ported despite the option being there. With those circumstances I think it's pretty fair to assume NMH's state is kind of "complicated" despite Grasshopper now being partial co-owners.
That being said, I agree with you that it could be anyone at this point. The bar for "third party with a strong Nintendo connection" is a pretty easy one to cross, and only really discounts names like Dante, 2B, etc. It even works to Arle's favor given the SNES Switch offerings and Puyo Tetris making it west thanks to Switch.
And yah boy, Travis TouchdownThe weird thing about those hints is that they perfectly describe Bayo and Banjo... And KOS-MOS, who's been deconfirmed apparently?

Ooh, I see it's the "bash the favorite character of someone else" day
Crash looks stupidly adorable and that's how he's supposed to be.
and your favorite character isn't half bad either. have a nice day <3
Which is why the "hints" mean nothing. Especially when they say that it could be referring to upcoming characters as well. The weird thing about those hints is that they perfectly describe Bayo and Banjo... And KOS-MOS, who's been deconfirmed apparently?

oh, you're the cup is half empty kind of person? :pHow dare you say that my character is 50% bad
Edelgard is 100% good
