I'm more bemused by the sight of all these Xbox folks happily popping into this thread than wondering what this potential (big) news is all about!
I think it has something to do with a backward compatibility system with upgrades to games, much like Microsoft's... but only PSNow subscribers will be able to use it.

There was a user yesterday on Reddit /r/PS4 who made a post saying Sony would announce today that they would be skipping E3 2019...
I wonder if that could be it, and they'd be skipping E3 in favor of their own event to announce PS5.
(I removed the post because it was a baseless rumor with the only "proof" being "I have a friend who works at PlayStation.")
