Well all those franchises are dead so...
That doesn't mean they can't be revived. Socom would be extremely big in this era of battle royale/ mp centric titles. Killzone had two games released this gen, so it can't be said that it's presently dead. Perhaps Horizon has taken priority for Guerrilla but none of us definitely know if Guerrilla is done with Killzone until they come out and say it or at the very least an entire gen passes that sees zero games released for the series.

MediEvil is playable in the Game XP event in Rio de Janeiro.

Here's a article in Portuguese talking about it:

The Good:
- Very long demo (with at least 3 missions)
- Very, very good visuals.
- Very faithful to the original.
- More responsive controls.

The Bad:
- Awful camera.
- The gameplay is still very clumsy.
- Gameplay has not been modernized (as has been happened with some recent remakes)

They said that it seems to be a "lazy remake" since apart from the visual improvements, it changes almost nothing compared to the original.

Not surprised, the game looked rough in the recent trailer as well

People that want to play it won't care because it was pretty pish back in the day too. Even as a kid I found it cringey and boring.

I really need an Iron Man VR date.

So in short:

The Good
- Very long demo
- Very, very good visuals
- Very faithful to the original
- More responsive controls
- The gameplay is still very clumsy like the OG game
- Gameplay has not been modernized (still plays like the OG game)

The Bad:
- Bad Camera

Like I already said, this one is for the MediEvil fans. Won't review well, won't sell big numbers. But it's a remake of the OG game. So I can't wait! Day 1.

New rumor going around on twitter right now:

- The Last of Us 2 release date is May 22. 2020
- New Naughty Dog project for the PS5 has the codename "Stray's Cross"
- Will be an Action-Adventure game in First-Person, with steampunk elements
- Will have two protagonists, a former female scientist, (talented scholar, fascinated by space-time science, she discovers confidential documents that will lead her to discover a hidden truth much bigger than she could imagine), and a wanted criminal man (a former construction worker unjustly arrested for protecting a wanted friend during a shooting against the police)
- The plot is about a secret conflict that lasted entire ages, and how this will lead to the inevitable ruin of human society.
And the story begins with the casual meeting of the two protagonists, in completely different circumstances, who will soon find themselves having to work together to get what they are looking for.

Thought I post it here before anyone "makes a thread".
Games in First-Person mode =

I hope that's not true, i want a space opera to replace Mass Effect, 3rd person and not fps

quoting nightengale's post about the Naughty Dog rumor:

In all seriousness, the details in that rumour doesn't match historical precedent of how ND names their projects internally.

Jak, Uncharted and TLOU were called Project X, Big and Thing respectively.

he raises a good point, this rumor doesnt add up.

We shouldn't forget Tarsier Studio among long-terms Sony collaborations : https://tarsier.se/. After being a port/collaboration team (Little Big Planet/Terraway), with Little Nightmare (multi) and Statik (PSVR) I am curious about what's coming from them.

That's a good month... a good catch up for Bethesda titles vs Gamepass. Tekken and Castlevania are nice also - although shame the former isn't for Europe (yet?).

Wow, that is a HUGE step up compared to other months

That is 4 AAA PS4 games in 1 month

Pretty awesome

Seems like Sony is ready to turn around the narrative around PSNow. Next gen will be an even bigger focus.

For some reason Sony doesn't want to acquire any Northern/Central European studios. Which is weird because even EA and Ubi have both multiple Swedish studios. Their loss I guess.

It was just a publishing deal. Not them becoming an actual FP studio.

It was? Their wording was very strange at the time.

Tarsier Studios has announced that it has signed a deal with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe to become a first-party studio. The developer will be working with SCEE to bring a new unannounced title to the market.

Tarsier Studios Strikes First-party Deal With SCE - PlayStation LifeStyle

Tarsier Studios are widely known for their excellent PlayStation Network title, Ragdoll Kung Fu: Fists of Plastic. The company has already been helping out with Sony's first-party games such as LittleBigPlanet, so it's no surprise that Sony Computer Entertainment has struck a deal with them to...

Tarsier has stated that they're currently working on two games with two different publishers. They also heavily implied that one of them will be a sequel to Little Nightmares which afaik is owned by Bandai Namco.

Tarsier signed a deal to become a SCE Studio back in 2010. Little Nightmares was also announced as a PlayStation Exclusive.

No one knows what happened between them, but I believe it must not have been very friendly.
Tarsier was never a Sony studio. The articles is crap. They just had a deal with Sony.
Yes. The wording is strange.
interesting... I guess it was replaced by Pixelopus
Nah. PixelOpus was just a bunch of student interns. And in the end Sony decided to create a new team with them:
Mr. Lee (executive producer at SCEA) helped teach a class at Carnegie Mellon University in which students built prototypes of games for the Vita, Sony's hand-held console. Some of the students landed internships at Sony, then jobs. This month, the results of their work in concert with others at Sony is to be announced at the annual E3 trade show in Los Angeles: the first release from a new Sony studio called Pixel Opus.

The wording is strange, but the key language is that they signed a FP deal with SCEE. If you're becoming FP with Sony, then you wouldn't sign with a specific region. You'd just be part of the overall company structure. For example, when Sony acquired Guerrilla this is the language used

Sony Computer Entertainment today announced that it has acquired leading developer Guerrilla Games to further expand its development capability as part of Worldwide Studios (SCE WWS).

Guerrilla is a European studio, but notice that it just says "Sony Computer Entertainment"? No Europe, Asia or America. That's because they were being folded into the company as a whole. So, Tarsier were pretty much working with XDev on their stuff. And for the next five or so years after that, their games were only released on PS platforms.

I think some confusion also comes from differing definitions of 'first party'. A lot of people/consumers think of first party as a game coming from a developer owned by the publisher. But in a business sense, first party is more about ownership of the game, not the studio. That's why games like Ratchet & Clank and Resistance are technically first party, despite being developed by a third party studio.

Wikipedia also phrases it a publishing deal:
In 2010, they signed a publishing deal with Sony Interactive Entertainment and Microsoft Windows on a new, unannounced project, gaining Sony's first-party support.

Not only in business sense. That was always what 1st party meant. A lot of people simply were and still are clueless.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
