Lots of interesting news games announced today at PGW. I am just disappointed Dreams was a no show ;(

Still really, really skeptical that Dreams will be a VR game.

It was never announced as a VR game. There's been nothing officially stated mentioning VR support.

It's a title that would obviously benefit from VR - particularly for create-mode.
But I just cannot bring myself to expect any VR support in such an ambitious title.

And damn it, they keep stringing us along waiting for confirmation either way.

I am no longer worried about PSVR future. The library is already very solid, and there are more games on the way. I am surprized how much VR stuff was announced today.

I am looking forward to Eden Tomorrow, Blood and Truth, Apex Construct, Bow to Blood, Megalith, and Star Child. RE7 DLC also looks great. : )

Is there a workaround for getting 4k 2160p RGB displayed to my TV when not using the headset? (PS4 Pro) Some kind of splitter perhaps? Don't really want to keep removing my HDMI cables every time I want to play. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, I'm using a splitter, but switches work also. It's critical to ensure it supports 4k@60, and to have good HDMI cables.

I had a thread with info on the old site, but haven't created one here yet.

Will post later with verified models.

I heard some support 4K@60 but don't do RGB and only 2160p YUV420. Not sure how true that is but id like to go RGB if possible :)

And I've got some good HDMI cables for 4K :)

Do you think this would work? https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00LA1HI1W/?tag=e100-21

Or would this be better? https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B073H3MPCW/?tag=e100-21

Given the first doesn't explicitly state 4K@60 - I'd say it probably won't work.
The second one looks okay - but these things can be hit and miss. Sometimes such labels can be misleading. The old PSVR OT was littered with different products people had tried, a lot of which did not deliver.

https://sewelldirect.com/ibis-4k-hdmi-switch-box-2x1-white This one is tried and tested, and the company made specific images to highlight PSVR setup and compatibility.

I'm using this splitter:

Two things to keep in mind.
Switching inputs, may require the PU and/or the switch/splitter to be power cycled. So consider accessibility to where your devices are. I'm able to easily and selectively power cycle devices from my power board, more easily than I can get behind my TV to where my devices are, so a splitter was better for me than a switch.

You will need good cables for 4K + HDR. Every metre of cable and every connection will degrade the signal, so you as short cables as possible, and good quality cables.

I don't like recommending that anyone buy expensive cables for this - I recommend taking your time with testing out all the cables you have from other devices. I was able to use cables from PSVR,PS4Pro and Apple TV. Then I just replaced AppleTV cable with cheap one since it doesn't need 4k. I also am able to get away with 3m(9ft) total in cables between PS4 and TV.

Remember, PSVR PU to TV is far less important(1080 non-HDR) than PS4 to PSVR, or PS4 to 4KTV. I use cheap cable here, and feed that through my receiver to save inputs on my TV.

To those of you that have a PSVR, are you satisfied w the amount of content available? Do you spend more time w the PS proper than the PSVR? I'm still thinking about getting the PSVR but don't want it to gather dust like my Vita.

I've had enough interesting experiences with my PSVR since buying it a few months ago that it has more than justified the cost for me. With all of the new stuff coming down the pipeline, it seems like it has a good life ahead of it too. Hell, I'd say it's worth it just for RE7 in VR. An absolutely incredible experience and way different from playing without the helmet.

I have more PSVR games(30+) than I have time to play.
But I still have 10+ on my wish list waiting for a sale.

It's not as easy to pickup and play for short bursts like standard PS4 games, so I still play a lot of 2d games. I have kids, so it's much easier to have a quick game of rocket league, or a short challenge in Trackmania, and not worry about the content on screen, than to play RE7 in PSVR. But when I set aside time to play PSVR, I usually am in their for a few solid hours.

I loved the London Heist, and I am hyped for London Studio's next VR game "Blood and Truth".

It looks like the ultimate action movie experience.

Blood & Truth is my most anticipated PSVR announcement at pgw.
Very interested in Apex Construct, Sprint Vector and Eden Tomorrow,

Announcements like Bow to Blood, Megalith (if its a mp only game) or Smash Hit Plunder are not on my list.

I missed the game from sony manchester but overall it was a very good show : )

EDIT:
The new Ace Combat 7 trailer looks great :D

Quite a few announcements, my favorite is Blood & Truth. Really liked the Heist in VR Worlds and this being an evolution of that sounds great. I was kind of hoping to see something regarding Dreams and VR but I guess we'll have to wait a little longer for news on that (if there even is any VR functionality).

Fantastic news x3!

Doom VFR with Aim is now a must-buy.

I was assuming I'd be playing Skyrim with a DS4, as I wasn't keen on the idea of teleportation in a game like that. Now it looks like I'll be able to dual-target with two Moves and still have locomotion!

PVP in Farpoint sounds good, but it's probably just going to be an opportunity for me to get shot in the back of the head by people with better reactions than me!

Does the splitter you use do full 4k and RGB?

The splitter you use, could you provide a link for that if possible? Im in the UK if thats any help you you?

Thanks man :)

EDIT

I've just purchased the second one (the links I posted) and will update this thread tomorrow when it arrives.

Thanks for your help man.

Hands-On: Blood And Truth Is Like The London Heist On Steroids

Movement is a bit unique in Blood and Truth. In the trailer embedded above it seems like the developers included smooth, free locomotion as a movement option but that's not the case based on what I've seen. Instead, there are pre-defined waypoints spread throughout the game that you select and your character will automatically slide across the level towards them.

The content of my demo was promising and makes me feel like the finished product will feature a lot of gameplay variety. Things start out nice and slow as I'm slowly sneaking into the facility and have to monitor my target's movements across the casino using security cameras. Eventually I'm discovered and a security guard opens fire, forcing me to creep down the hallway.

Gunplay felt great once the shootout commenced and I was able to easily move between cover even though it was just node-based sliding movement. When the bullets started firing I didn't care much about the lack of free locomotion because I was so focused on not getting killed, but I could definitely imagine the absence of freedom to explore will get frustrating as the game goes on.

'Doom VFR' PlayStation Aim Support Isn't Perfect, But it is Welcomed

Compared to playing Doom VFR with motion controllers, I quite preferred the feel of the PS Aim controller which brings more intuitive aiming and makes wielding some of the game's massive two-handed weapons, like the Plasma Rifle, feel far more natural. Holding a weapon like the Plasma Rifle in a single hand hand (with Move controllers) just feels wrong from an immersion standpoint since (in VR) it lacks the mass implied by its form.
To its credit, according to Lang, Doom VFR "looks absolutely gorgeous on PlayStation VR, easily qualifying as one of the system's best looking titles."

First look at Blood and Truth traversal system. Seems like a "select spot, walk there" type of movement. Some onrails, some strafing left and right are my guesses. Great way to make traversal simple for user-friendly experience.

I'm excited for Blood and Truth knowing that it's being done by London Studio. London Heist begged for more content.

Same goes for Scavenger's Odyssey.

FARPOINT - VERSUS EXPANSION PACK - UPDATE 1.08

Announcing the Versus Expansion Pack — This free update brings the most requested user feature, by far, player vs player to Farpoint. The Versus Expansion Pack supports 1v1 gameplay with different enemy AI teammates that the player can spawn and use strategically to gain an advantage.

There are two PvP game modes, Deathmatch and Uplink. In Uplink, communication relays are dropped into the play area that the player must capture and hold to gain points. Killing the other player and enemy AI will also award points.

For both Deathmatch and Uplink, it is a round based system. You need to win 2 out of 3 rounds on each map to be declared the winner. Each round takes place in a different/separate area of the map so you need to learn the layout of each area to master a map. 3 new PvP maps (with 3 areas each) are included in the Versus Expansion Pack.

In addition to the PvP game mode, the following new features are included in the Versus Expansion Pack:

- Player XP progression system with unlockable skins
- Weapon XP progression system with 15 new weapons to unlock.
- Chaos difficulty Co-Op games are significantly more chaotic.
- Easily crouch while sitting using the crouch button toggle.
- New turning comfort settings (yes, they can all be disabled).
- New trophies.
- Various bug fixes and improvements.

Stay tuned for more updates leading up to release.

Geez, I can't believe it took me THIS long to find the VR thread in the new forums. Never occurred to me to look in hangouts.

Hey guys. Good to be back. Lots of familiar names and avatars, so looking forward to continuing to discuss PSVR-related things with the Usual Suspects.

Yeah, OTs except for new games are forced into hangouts. :/ Wish we had more visibility, but what can we do?

Tried Stifled. I really shouldn't get horror games. I find it quite scary. It uses sound, either mic or controller and you sneak around. I haven't played enough to recommend it though but the VR is interesting though, dark and white around objects, looks cool. It could do with a pro patch though. It's quite jaggy.

Blood and Truth looks like Goldeneye VR.

So glad to hear I can replicate RE7 controls in Skyrim VR (DS4 snap rotation + head aiming). Made me pre-order.

Though the dual PS Move non-teleportation controller setup in this game actually sounds viable. And it lets me use natural bow & arrow mechanics.

Great to hear Doom getting Aim Support. I will likely pick it up now.

I just don't have enough time to play all these games. Especially with Skyrim coming out soon.
