Same. All we know is there are three parties: the ancient kingdom, an "enemy", and the world government, which was formed when the void century ended. It's possible (quite likely even) that the "enemy" was the world government which erased the ancient kingdom from existence and hid the truth. Or maybe the "enemy" defeated the ancient kingdom, and the WG in turn defeated the "enemy". We also don't know if the ancient kingdom was good or bad. Lots of mysteries surrounding the void century and the kingdom that existed before it.

it's heavily implied (if not outright stated) during the Robin flashback that the world government was either the enemy of the the ancient kingdom, or was created by the enemies of the ancient kingdom after they defeated the kingdom

Whitebeard was probably the strongest when he was in his prime with his Devil Fruit. Now that he is dead Kaido gets the spot. And Weevil is probably on par with Whitebeard in his prime with no Devil Fruit. Though it has also been two years so maybe Kaido made massive inroads on improving himself and would now be Whitebeards equal even in his prime.
But what about Shanks who stopped Kaido from getting to Marineford. We all know he didn't talk Kaido out of going.
