His intro had me thinking he'd be a chill playboy or something lol went completely left
TV Tropes highlights a funny discrepancy that despite his whole "yeah the powers-that-be totally deserve to rule over you worthless subhumans" he also had to be forcibly drafted into the Marines. Which on first blush sounds weird but with the right framing is
extremely appropriate for a punk like him, lol.
Kaku falls into the "a bad guy, but not a bad guy" category that Zangief talks about in Wreck It Ralph. Dude turned into a giraffe and made the most of it.
Recent manga events might be setting up that he's not as evil as Lucci, who slammed shut his window to redemption after being given a chance. Lucci's a bitch and I hope he gets beat by every Straw Hat in descending order of power by the time the manga ends.
Kaku always struck me as a guy that knows how shitty his job is but at the end of the day it's his job and he's typically damn good at it.
Lucci meanwhile is very blatantly just there for the killstreaks. Dude's always been a brat if you looked deep enough but it's really visible now now that he isn't the hot shit in the room and is desperate for validation.
This year might go down as my favorite year in gaming. There's been A+ dlc and A+ games all year. Holy shit I've never had it this good. It actually feels like the Covid delays are over and now we are getting the rush of amazing projects. The heat still has a few great games left too so damn I'm spoiled and I don't know how long it'll be till this is matched again.
Now if only anime games could be eating this hard lol. Would be fun to get a character action demon slayer game or a turn based My Hero game. I really wish the IP's could be licensed out more I'm sure there's tons of devs that would want to work on them and more.
1. Yeah I really would put this up there, the sheer volume of quality has been absolutely staggering and there's still a few hot releases to come. We won't see the full effects of it for a few years but even now the impact feels huge.
2. The state of anime games really does suck, especially for Jump games coming out of Bamco. It sucks seeing these properties reduced to cheap cash-grab ideas and it sucks to see fans gobble them up as readily as they do. Like between that Jump moba, the MHA BR game, the JK arena fighter, and what I've heard about the Dai one I just want to pull my damn hair out.
