Metroid Dread arrives this year, on the 8th day of the 10th month.

By pure coincidence 8/10 will also be its Metascore.

After Katrina I've learned my lesson. This time evacuating I'm taking as many consoles as I can with me and Im putting my game collection as high in the closet as possible! Fuck off Ida!

Oof, Hurricane Ida looming ever closer must be scary! I wish you all the best, and I will pray that your collection remains intact; please stay safe!!

CalArts

California Institute of the Arts is a game-changer in the education of artists. Learn about CalArts’ programs in visual, performing, media and literary arts.

they call it calarts

Well I've also never looked at their website or searched for any information about them for any reason so I'm not surprised I didn't know that.

CalArts has been used as a derogative for a while now for contemporary american cartoon art style

This answers my question, thank you.

for the record, as funny as I find it the bean head meme is bullshit. everything else about those characters is different (just look at those eyes!) and the way they emote is as well

thing is, I've never not heard it called calarts. Maybe it's an age thing after all

After nearly thirty hours, I'm finally almost finished with SSHD. I just walked into the final dungeon. The stuff between the sixth dungeon and the seventh seems to be the main source of padding or filler complaints, and I definitely see where people are coming from there, but for me I actually really enjoyed getting all the song parts. The tadtones part was cool, seeing the woods flooded; the timeshift mine cart was cool, and the volcano stealth section was actually pretty fun as far as forced stealth sections go.

Raccoon I think maybe you just talk (or think) about CalArts more than most of us

Tbh, I found basically every non-dungeon section past the third dungeon to be filler, with the exception of the sand sea

Yeah, I like that stuff more than most.

Kind of don't wanna put down NMH3 but gotta go to bed. No offense, but can't play it handheld, just is too blurry for me. Overall the game is good and a lot of jokes. Boss battles have been super tough, even on normal difficulty. Going to try and complete it this weekend.

Really it's just the mouths. They are all very different characters but I find it funny that they all have the same mouth.

Pretty interested in Survive, it's different and not just a generic RPG (which I'm also fine with but you know, like Digimon games to better take advantage of the Virtual Pet stuff)

also look at all this money I'm wasting

As someone who has absolutely no interest in and has never played Saint's Row (then, or now), I have to admit I find it kind of baffling yet interesting to follow the discourse about it suddenly

When you boil it down, SR has always been a series with a divide in the fandom. Some people really love SR2, others really loved SR3, and other really loved SR4. And now the new one is similar but different, so everyone is unhappy. Happens all the time with series that have sequels they feel really different.

I have never seen another statement that A. I've never really thought about before and B. Makes so much sense
I'm not gonna get into details but I enraged some blow torch dweeb, stole Mysterio's wallet, got rugburns in a concrete parking garage, gave the band weed, committed accidental costume contest voter fraud, left a burned CD of the same Joel Veitch song over and over in a car that turned out NOT to be mine, left a perfect makeup imprint of my face in a faux leather couch and somehow missed cleaning it off before an early-morning business meeting the following Monday, and was maaaaaybe just a little bit of a grunkle slut.

I was gonna attempt to argue that this image isn't all that accurate, but googling for evidence has, of course, led me to incest art, so never mind.
we tread the path of thorns

I feel like the same thing happens every time I try to address nuance in the CalArts debate. I've just conditioned myself to not respond. All roads lead to hell.

idk about Survive but sweet holy fuck I hope the new anime is good. There hasn't been a good Digimon anime in a decade.

Day was made by seeing a random Amazon prime ad for the Rebuild of Evangelion movies and finding out they're on there for free.

Had completely put the possibility of seeing them out of my head

I've never seen it abbreviated as "calarts" and I'm not sure I have any idea what it means in this context.

And yes, no idea who or what a grunkle Stan is.
the original CalArts dunk was uttered by the Ren & Stimpy shitmeister in the 90s, so… the concept is ye olde

also the aforementioned guy is a piece of shit
