Don't worry Lions, you're probably going to be playing a NFC North team in the playoffs either way

Montez Sweat has actually been so good for us, he really transformed our defense from the front 4
This is what kills me as a Lions fan though. We watched that trade for Mack do the EXACT same thing for your defense. I still remember that first game of his in Chicago when he just terrorized Green Bay right up until he got hurt.

And Detroit not only sat on their hands but did so while a division rival was actively getting better. Smh.

did they ever figure out why he wanted to challenge? apart from the fact he literally cannot challenge that play, nothing looked bad on it

yeah on top of everything even if he could have challenged he wouldn't have won it. It looked like he was mouthing something about "out of bounds" to the refs but every time they replayed that TD it was a clean play.

What's going to happen in the world if the lions pull a dolphins and I guess vintage lions and finish 9-7? They look so bad

The thing I'm trying to keep reminding myself is that if you said four months ago that the Lions would win 10-11 games, win the division and host a playoff game, we'd have all probably taken it.

But this sucks watching them be awful for basically a month straight now. I think they can squeeze out another win or two but I'm not remotely confident about it.

one question lions fans

can you feel the love tonight
I feel only bitterness. But that's normal for me.

I think we at least get one of the two Minnesota games but it probably ends up being a split--either we win the first and that likely seals the division so we rest some guys in the rematch, or we lose the first and absolutely need the last game. I can't feel confident about going to Dallas and winning but it's Dallas and who knows, and I've felt unusually confident about the Broncos game for a while now but for the way the team--the defense especially--has played since the bye week, it's hard to feel confident about practically anything the team's doing. Getting two more wins to finish 11-6 should be the benchmark...though as I've said repeatedly I have no faith in us actually winning a playoff game this year, even if we're hosting and regardless of who we potentially face. I don't see the defense managing to hold up against any competent enough playoff offense, not in that level of pressure situation and not with the injury-plagued state of both our lines.

I feel for our defense our only hope is that CG Garner-Johnson and James Houston comes back and provide a much needed boost for our defense. Offense needs to get it together but Goff pretty much cost himself money these last few games. We did draft Hendon Hooker so maybe he's the answer at QB if Goff does what he did with the Rams

I don't actually. Purdy or Tyreek is my MVP so far.

That's interesting. My MVP of San Francisco is Deebo Samuel and it's not even close. The 49ers suffered back to back losses while Deebo was injured this year. Deebo takes 2 yard passes from Purdy to the house on a weekly basis. That is impact. The second he leaves the offense Purdy is a duck.

Purdy is a good player, way better than Garoppolo for sure. He just isn't MVP caliber.
