Oh man, the Bears are gonna beat these cupcake teams left on their schedule and convince themselves into keeping Fields/Eberflus for another season aren't they? Please don't fall for it

I hope they do because id love for nothing else than for Caleb Williams to avoid that shit hole but I cannot imagine they actually run it back with Fields, as inept as they are.

How many teams are gonna have new quarterbacks next season?

Patriots
Bears
Raiders
Falcons (unless they make the playoffs, and then the Falcons get another year of Ridder)

Strong possibilities:
Commanders
Buccaneers (depends entirely on if they make the playoffs)
Saints (depends entirely on if they make the playoffs)
Seahawks

Maybe:
Giants
Vikings

Fans wish they'd move on:
Steelers
Panthers

I want Dak to be gifted the MVP so that the Cowboys keep him for the years to come. Paying all that money.

I'm not saying Purdy deserves the MVP (imo it should be Christian McCaffrey).... but if some don't see how special Brock is, well too bad because he will continue to make great plays look normal.

Like the TD to Deebo.. outsider looking in "Whoopty Do, he hit a wide open Deebo deep"... when in actuality, he quickly saw the safety's feet position...quickly estimated that Deebo could run right passed him... turned down the easy first read to Jennings and hit Deebo (in stride) over the top.

Maybe someone will compile a bunch of Purdy highlights from the all-22 camera view. 🤷🏾‍♂️ He's made so many sick passes since he has become the starter last year. Seen him take HARD HITS (hell he did in college as well)...go through adversity early in a game... and still not lose his confidence and continue to fire the ball!

giants are a very, very strong possibility of drafting a QB. they have an out in Jones' contract after next year and it's unlikely he will play until deep into the season. with significantly more pressure to do well next year in the 3rd year of scheon/daboll, i find it hard to imagine they will have tommy devito starting at QB to start he season.

Also, I thought the commanders like howell enough to stick with him?

I'm not the one who decides these things, just my thoughts.

My reasoning behind the Commanders is they will likely have new GM/Coach, who may want a new QB. Howell has looked up and down this year.

Falcons (unless they make the playoffs, and then the Falcons get another year of Ridder)

My #1 fear is that with the easiest schedule in the NFL and the current state of the NFC South, the Falcons slide into a playoff spot, decide to hold serve, and determine they don't need transformative change on both sides of the ball.
This organization needs more than iteration, but mediocrity has been so richly rewarded at the oddest times this very strange season.

I'm uncertain if Arthur Smith is an ok head coach with terrible instincts at the QB position or if he's also bad with bad instincts at the QB position. But win the NFC South and guess what: Ridder and Smith are both back. Despite the fact that anyone can see Ridder is not the guy, except for Smith.

The only thing that might fix that would be getting ground into a fine paste by the Eagles or Cowboys, because I think that's the fate of whomever takes the NFC South.

I could see them as a Fields landing spot whether Smith is back or not

I feel like Smith is going to get another season, but I'm still heated that it seemed like he didn't want to use Bijan regularly until probably Arthur Blank told him to do so more than halfway through the season. I wouldn't trust someone making a decision like that to be my head coach if I owned a team.

I think it's been kind of an open secret Bill is gone after this season. Someone on the Pat McAfee show last week (can't remember who) alluded that his destination next year has basically already been decided. My guess is Commanders or Chargers

Billy B. can still coach up a hell of a defense. Keep him out of the draft room and pair him with a decent OC. I can see Commanders picking him up hoping for Sean Payton like results.

Patriots and BElichick being done has been a rumor since the beginning of the season when they announced their "Extension," but nobody will know till it's gonna happen.

The timing of this article, which could just be made up, might also line up with the Chargers firing Staley after this THursday assuming he loses. There's all sorts of rumors of Bill going to Washington or Chicago for the history of it, but I think he wants to make his own history and break Shula's record and the best chance for that is a team with an already good QB, even if they suck.

In other PAtriots news, this explanation by Pat McAfee on what I thought was a BS call on the Steeler's false start on that punt is very interesting:

View: https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZPRc173Yd/

The long snapper making sudden head movements before snapping the ball *is* a false start, I didn't know that, and BElichick or Judge was tuned into it, told the defense to jump the snap as soon as he moved his head, and they had brought it up int he rule book before the game to the refs. This is similar to the blocked FG or punt by the PAtriots that McAfee broke down in whatever game the Patriots won earlier, I think against Buffalo or something, where they look for this twitch/body language by the holder and then time their rush to that. McAfee said in that video that belichick's special teams are obsessed with finding tells on tape especially on special teams.

I thought that false start was a wacko bailout, but this explanation makes sense. I was also rooting for a loss.

Even if they allowed the head snap, the guard jumps vs and since the defensive player that jumped isn't lined up over him but the RT, that would be a false start on the RG.

Poor Chris taking L's all weekend. Dolphins losing to a horrible team. Plus his fantasy football lost to a last place team too.

Man I hope Bill Belicheck doesn't end up going to the Falcons or something. Stay in the AFC, Bill!
