Hell or High Water. Perfect genre filmmaking. Everyone firing on all cylinders, working from a tight script, with a brilliant director. From the running time to the soundtrack, there's not a thing wrong with it.

I love you like a rose loves rainwater, like a leopard loves its partner in the jungle, like... I don't know what like.

I was gonna list a bunch of movies I feel are extremely good, but then actually thinking about an actual perfect movie... the only one that really fits this for me is Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse

Both are masterful at weaving character arcs alongside the main storyline which itself is quite engaging with a good script and cinematography.

I would even nominate Annihilation, Sicario, and Prisoners which are also masterful. I can't find any criticisms for them.

Good premise for a thread but those examples op...yikes.
Anyway, it's not my favorite movie but I consider "The Wrestler" by Darren Aronofsky to be a perfect film. That is, you couldn't tell that story in a better way

Man, its hard to think out of all the films I've watched which I'd describe as being absolutely perfect. There was just one film that immediately came to my mind before I opened the thread:

Hot Fuzz

After reading through the thread I'll also echo Into The Spider-Verse, Shawshank Redemption and The Dark Knight. LOTR trilogy are some of the best films ever for me but they're so big and ambitious that they do get a few things slightly wrong, so I wouldn't describe them as perfect. Perfection is incredibly hard to achieve.

The Fellowship of the Ring extended cut is a legit perfect film. I'd probably add Knives Out after a few more viewings.
