Ah, thanks! I'm reinstalling it and gives it another chance. That's is just the tutorial section, the game doesn't save in the traditional way, as part of it's design. Dying is an integral part of the game.
Once you are past that you will see how the save system works, that's all I will say.
Definitely wouldn't call it laid back. How is this compared to NMS? I assume the difference is that NMS is much more focused on resource gathering to craft a bunch of shit to utilize as you explore, whereas Outer Wilds is a much more streamlined, laid back experience?

Unless there was a patch after it received an X enhancement, the X enhancement significantly degraded performance to the point it has some real bad drops below 30.I've only played on a OG Xbox One and the X - it runs at unstable 30 fps on the former but at rock solid 30 on the X.
Oh, I hope so. I would totally double dip on a game of the generation.
I believe I played it on the X fairly recently. February, perhaps. Didn't run into any issues - not nearly as many as I did on the OG Xbox, at least.Unless there was a patch after it received an X enhancement, the X enhancement significantly degraded performance to the point it has some real bad drops below 30.
Does it play well on console or is the optimal experience on PC?
Hmm. I think I dropped the game before then, so perhaps it did indeed receive another update that improved performance.I believe I played it on the X fairly recently. February, perhaps. Didn't run into any issues - not nearly as many as I did on the OG Xbox, at least.
Controls are so so on console - personally I found flying the ship in space especially frustrating. Also be aware that this is a walking simulator game as far as the core gameplay loop. If you don't like those you will not like this game either.
In a year with Sekiro and REmake 2 I still agree- Outer Wilds is fucking incredible.
Nah. It's Myst in space. It's an adventure game through and through with puzzles and mini-quests.Also be aware that this is a walking simulator game as far as the core gameplay loop.
Steam release coming June 18th. I have no idea why I was willing to wait so long for it.
Apparently I'm thinking of another game. There is a game similarly titled coming to switch in a couple weeks.... what am I thinking of?
I kinda forgot about this as it's EGS exclusive. I'll make a reminder to pick it up in a Steam sale at some point, maybe in the xmas sale.
It's not; it's also on game pass/ windows store.
Edit. I'm wrong.
Obligatory main theme link to make everyone emotional looking back on their great experience with the game:
