Jet Set Radio was the game I played on my Dreamcast that made me think "Wow, there's really not enough buttons on this controller. I need way more direct camera control."
Uhhh or any game with camera control lolThe Dreamcast controller is not a great deal different than any Xbox or really any modern controller, so I am not sure how you could think that. The only games that are really significantly harmed by the controller in a modern sense are probably third and first person shooters.
I mean, this is a video game forum. Every second person thinks they have a total monopoly on what defines "good". There have always been shitty hot takes, we just didn't have a name for them.
btw if OP was complaining about controls. Man, you should steer clear of gunvalkyrie - one of the worst controlling games of all time. That somehow its fanbase managed to turn into "you need to get good". That's a shitty control system.

Agreed. Dreamcast fans really hyped up their games and then we played them on re-releases and the rest of us were WTF. Apologizes of "you had to be there" doesn't excuse fillling up the Internet with gloating over these games for a decade.
Yeah! It's kind of like they made it sim-arcade rather than just ape any ol third/first person shooter that Sega given other games was clearly capable of doing if that's what they actually wanted. I'd love a ZOE/AC style game with these controls! The Dreamcast version was going to be crazier than on Xbox with utilizing a lightgun for the weapons aiming in conjunction with the controller. They wanted Wii style games before Wii! Well, Capcom had done similar with Gun Survivor but clearly not in a fast paced agile game like that.Gunvalkyrie's controls are great. Yes, they take time to get used to, but they offer you a great degree of control over your highly-mobile character, function perfectly without any dropped or eaten inputs, and give you all the tools you need to overcome the challenges the game throws at you.
Most people who praise it these days are blinded by nostalgia.
I meant JSR with better graphics and so on. And as you can see here THPS levels are just very blocky. No wonder that didn't have camera problems, while JSR had a lot of small corners...I think THPS2 shits on JSR from a great height, but let's be realistic here
Texture quality, environment detail, and general art style are all way better in JSR. And that's a modded THPS2 screenshot too, don't forget the draw distance on the OG version.
No you didn't. Don't make me hate on a fellow Landstalker fan.
