I feel like they should really limit the number of game modes, or just have conquest and nothing else, considering that's where basically all of the focus goes to, and is what the huge majority of players play. Like, back in the last few years of 4/before 1 came out, there was like 19,000 daily players, and probably less than a few hundred playing all modes outside conquest.
Also don't bring back Metro.

The Battlefield Bad Company 2 multiplayer is still my favourite of all BF games so anything like that and I'll buy it and be happy.

A sandbox he says.
Limit customization he says.

So you want a Sandbox filled with concrete bricks?

Having a bunch of customizations for your weapon is part of the sandbox
No, its not. Ita a psychological tool to keep people addicted and playing in the absence of compelling gameplay.

Battlefield 1942, Vietnam, 2, 2142, 2:MC, BC1, 1943, BC2, BF1 all had very limited to no customization and were better Battlefield games and better sandboxes than BF3 and BF4.

They've had 4 games since then and the single player has not been good or interesting.

I liked the BC2 campaign too.

Yeah, that's why I hope they take extra time to rethink the mode and make it meaningful again.
Not only on the narrative side, but also tying the campaign to other modes like on MW19.

god I wish Dice / Ea takes note and stop wasting time and resources on SP. They never made anything but mediocre SP content, nobody cares for it, just put resource into MP content and good day one fuctionnalities.

Please bring back of expansions/ premium if it means we get more content...for the love of god we don't mind paying if we actually get good long term support.

I played BF3 and 4 for so many damn year... hell I still play them to this day.

Let me preemptively vomit at this idea. The specialization system in BFV is near-perfect for guns. I fucking despise the "avalanche of choice" shit that we saw with BF3/4 and COD (particularly MW19).

Battlefield should be a simple sandbox team shooter. There shouldn't be hundreds of unlocks where you need to grind and grind and grind to get to get that sandbox.
What's funny is that I absolutely hate the way its done in BF1, BFV, and games like it. Half the fun of playing a military game is using all of their gear. I loved the way things were in BF3, BF4, and even MW19 though it's a little less balanced there. Guess this is just one of those split down the middle choices where everyone has what they prefer.

I really like the idea of a stagnant "Battlefield" where new expansions drop every so often. It's working with Call of Duty and I agree that it would be a great fit here.

What I want from the next Battlefield game:

-Don't lock classes into weapons as much. Friend of mine loves to play medic in Battlefield games. But in BFV half the weapons Medics have are single shot rifles which he hates and the other ones are basically useless unless the enemy is right in front of you. So that severely limits his options and made him not want to play medic which made him enjoy the game way less. And BFV already had not that many guns to begin with. Similarly, using a Sniper class without a sniper rifle in BF 4 gave you access to really useful tools as a squad without having to camp all the time.
-Weapon customization like in BF 4. I don't understand the weird approach Dice took in BFV. Did anybody like the weird "skill tree" system for guns? Just give me the option to customize my scopes etc. like in BF 4 again, don't be weird.
-Modern setting while boring is also the best because it allows for a multitude of different tanks, helicopters, planes etc.

I really, really want a future Battlefield. 2142 was pretty enjoyable from what I remember.

In technical terms, BF1 and V brought a lot of great things to the table, but DICE need to look at the PC classics and reinforce what made them so memorable from a teamwork and game flow standpoint.

I legit think Dice is terrified of committing to the teamwork aspect of BF. Its always something that never quite gets halfway there.

These games would be so much better served if the entire development process was focused on multiplayer. But I know in the past that they had statistics that showed the mass audience actually played the campaigns.

As with everyone else, I'm hoping for modern day setting on this one too. Although definitely not completely opposed to something different, as long as it's executed well.

Please god go the live service route like every other multiplayer shooter now. Battlefield V felt ancient in a lot of regards.

No more legacy bugs is an obvious request. Also I hope we see is a better UI and menu usability for basic functions. No more bloated nonsense that doesn't work half the time. Joining friends shouldn't be so fucking arduous.

A honest question, do you really think DICE commit most of it's manpower on the campaign? I can almost guarantee that there will be barely any difference in the amount of content that will be at launch of BF6 or whatever the name is going to be if it skips the SP. Yet that doesn't mean that I'm against DICE dropping the campaign, they have clearly proven that they don't care about it because I can't figure out why all of their SP modes are so mediocre and I'm being generous.

Battlefield is clearly a MP focused franchise and has always been that, unlike COD. So it being a MP only game makes perfect sense. Why EA hasn't figured it out, I have no idea.

Eh bring back weapon customization and attachments
Bring back the health bar (limit health regen)
...oh and please add a 3rd person view mode, since no one wants to make a third person military shooter on consoles

I really dislike how Jack is always critical after the fact, when game isn't particularly relevant anymore for franchise.

When games is the entry of franchise? Very rarely any, especially harder, criticism comes from him.

? He has criticised BF5 throughout the entirety of its lifespan, only briefly giving it praise when the Pacific content released.

They already did the naming thing once with Battlefield 1.
They should just go with Battlefield: Subtitle

So you want a Sandbox filled with concrete bricks?

Having a bunch of customizations for your weapon is part of the sandbox.
Give me in game currency to purchase whatever attachment I want as so to avoid the whole get 1000 kills to unlock x attachment.
Instead just PTFO level up get currency and new weapons, with what you have banked buy whatever attachments you want.
Even better is just let me pick and choose attachments to a weight limit.
I do still live level unlocks because they give a sense of purpose early game, once you ahve the gameplay loop down, you can enjoy the weapon you have made endlessly.

Let me choose what kind of sight I want on my gun.
I actually hate Red Dot sights......but the Kobra....thats my jam.

BF1 and BFV went backwards with weapon customization, BF1 was just trash....BFV is effectively the same system with an illusion of depth.
BF1 would literally devolve into everyone in class X using the exact same gun because there was a good one.

With BF3 and BF4 even if there were weapons that were favored by the community you could still customize something else to get a weapon that felt right.

Weapons is one of the things that BF3 and BF4 actually got right.

Bring back the Kobra!
maxresdefault.jpg
So this. The customization in 4 was great; some tweaks to differenation and a currency would make it perfect. The sandboxes of all the other games are much worse for their lack of it, like, not even close.

Honestly my ideal new BF would simply be an evolution from 4 - more vehicle customization, more unique engagement concepts, more for the commander to do, more destruction, while keeping the class design relatively tight and distinct yet still dynamic in the field. All this recent "vehicle specialist" stuff doesn't do it for me at all.

100% this. Just don't bother with it. It's going to be mediocre, uninspired dreck so just save everyone the time and effort.

They need to keep the minute to minute infantry gameplay feel from BFV. It's still the best playing competitive shooter game out right now, to me. They're probably going to fuck around with the ttk given they've shown they absolutely hate it on BFV.

Also, they really need to think strongly about vehicle balance. Vehicles should be incredibly effective alongside infantry and require teamwork to succeed. They don't need to be unkillable COD killstreaks ramped up to 11. If two squads of people team up to kill one fucking guy in a tank by himself, the tank should instantly die. People going 90-0 in games with one tank isn't a high skill ceiling, it's poorly balanced bullshit.

Battlefield 6 should be Battlefield: Star Wars.

I want to hop in a clone gunship with my squad and play conquest in a fully destructible Coruscant.

Also, get rid of vehicules grinds for unlocking shit.

Its not fair to fight fully level airplanes when you havent unlocked shit in yours.

Remember in BF3 you started NAKED in your jet vs people with flairs, heat seekers, advanced airbrakes, armor piercing hollow point high explosive sabot propelled enriched uranium rounds or whatknot for their machine guns with tigher spreed and better cooldown and you were like, dude I'm just trying to take off

Give me a ton of destruction. I also loved the evolving maps where something major happened halfway through the match (BF4 I think this was?).

My dream:

- Actually makes classes matter. Go back to seven classes like in BF2, get rid of all-class weapons which are some of the worst things in Battlefield.

- Get rid of infinite sprint, health regen, all the other stuff they jacked from CoD.

- Make more big, vehicle-heavy maps instead of infantry spam-tubes like [insert BF3 map here].

Basically just pretend BC2, BF3, and 4 don't exist. As far as I'm concerned pretty much everything those games brought to the table was a straight negative.

I remember community pretty actively disliking Levolution stuff after novelty wore off in few weeks.

It didn't feel dynamic enough and post-levolution layouts of maps were for most part seen as worse for gameplay flow.

BC 2 made gunplay of BF actually tolerable and make at least some sense.

Gunplay in earlier BF games is some most frustrating and luck based FPS gameplay I have ever experienced.

It was for sure seen as a negative. Even prior to launch people just wanted BC2 destruction, still to this day even.
Calculated singular events that leave the map in the same way it was the game prior was shit, it was a time when DICE wasn't sure how much they should pull back on destruction and made specific pieces of the environment destructable, it was a literal guessing game on what you could blow up when the game dropped.
BC2 you could kill pretty much anyone no matter where they were, just run up and blow a hole in the wall or drop a mortar/airstrike and level a house they're in, perfection.

Old Battlefield's gunplay needed work but the recoiless CoD laser guns they used in BC2/3/4 was absolutely not the solution.

Just give me at least 4 huge maps at launch with Bad Company level destruction and plenty to do.

A real focus on teamwork. Like your points are doubled when working as a team. It's not a surprise that on Warzone its teams that communicate that win matches.

Maybe up the team limit to 5 people a team

Remember that project reality battlefield mod. I want it like that but less harsh in terms of locked in roles.

I want vehicles to matter again.

I want in game missions for your team to have to do. Like recon an area, or take out an installation thats being guarded by other players. Be dropped behind enemy lines to take out a gun emplacement. I know they've toyed around with some of these ideas in other BF games

Commander eye in the sky giving us real tactical information.

Make it more than 64 players per map.

There is middle ground between BC 2 and BF 3 when it comes to destruction.

In BC 2 most of maps would be flat fields with zero infantry cover towards end of rounds. Tanks and helos farming free KDR from miles out because infantry had no way to fight back at those distances, but also had no place to take cover in. Some maps were worse with this than others.

it also was very frustrating.

Quick question — if a popular YouTuber uploads a video of a FPS and the thumbnail isn't a gun mid-reload, do they get expelled from some kind of creator's guild?
