Konami's been missing this generation. Sure, they kept releasing PES and released MGS V at the beginning of the gen, but after the huge PT scandal they have pretty much released nothing for consoles (MGS Survive doesn't count)
However, since last year, it seems as if Konami wanted to get in people's minds again. First they release Castlevania Requiem, giving people a chance to finally play Rondo of Blood if they haven't yet and SotN, probably one of the best Castlevania games. Then Ritcher and Simon got announced for Smash, and not only that but unlike Cloud there were a ton of Castlevania songs, spirits, etc. Now a few days ago, completely out of the blue, they announced three different collections of their classic titles for their 50th anniversary.
I think they're trying to make a comeback, maybe not this gen but in the next one. Hell maybe they saw how successful RE2 was and decided to do the same with Silent Hill.
