Don't understand how this actually works besides just counting globally the number of "wins" for each character, since it seems to be infinite and random.
Also if you want fair comparisons maybe don't compare beautiful Amano artworks to FF9 blurry 3D models who kinda look awful up close (not that ff9 design were that great anyway)

I realized I never played this FF4 after years and don't know any of the characters, some of the artwork seems real subpar. Also ouch at that Bartz redesign, it looks awful, was that for Dissidia ?

They probably took a list of party character from all mainline games and their sequels, but that was a baaaad idea.

Speaking of which. I'm really looking forward to going through the new version of FFIV followed by 3D The After Years. I think it'll make the game feel more fresh. I hope we get console remasters for TAY.

If we're talking battle efficiency, Wakka (Final Fantasy X) can persistently deal 1,199,988 (12x 99,999) damage per turn with Attack Reels.

I believe that's the highest damage output of any single character in the series, though I haven't played the MMOs to confirm that.
