I hope this is true. More people need to play this game and with a 40% off it can grab some fresh players thats for sure

Wtf is wrong with the aim it feels so fucked up.

Yes it feels heavy and clunky with tons of input lag. Adjust your settings, you can make it a bit better. You'll get used to it... kinda. They are investigating the high input lag so maybe there will be a fix in the future

It's never gonna be in the ballpark of something like...PUBG, which is an enormously lofty expectation. But I really hope stuff like the discounted price and free weekends bring in more and more players. I feel Hunt is far less inviting and a lot more intimidating and stressful at first than something accessible and to-the-point like PUBG, which probably turns a lot of people off. It's also not a modern military game, which will always be a strike against its appeal. But I find most players just need that ah-ha! moment where the gameplay loop suddenly clicks and they have a match that highlights the strengths of the experience, and suddenly the claws get in and it becomes an addiction.

God, I'd love a single player game set in this universe. Something like STALKER's design would be literally the perfect fit.

Finally got the courage to play with a teammate and we find 2 clues and on our way to the 3rd clue and run into another duo. I started getting excited trying to sneak up on them. Teammate gets killed by a zombie, i got to revive and the game lags on me and gets stuck. arghhhhhh

Do people not know there is a silenced pistol available from the start? Only been playing with randoms so of course they go guns loud at the first mob. Finally had it out with some other teams and man this game gets me shook

It's starting to feel like ps4 gameplay is starting to be more dash and grab than hide and seek.

If anyone wants to add me on psn it's jerf_54
although I think one more game and I'm done for the night

I could also go for a co-op or single player game set in this universe. Though it's set in Louisiana, Hunt is the closest thing I have to the dark Weird West game I dream about. I really appreciate all the detail they put into these old guns, and how many there are!

Totally agree, and that's another major underappreciated facet of the game; the gun porn. The visual and animation detail on the guns is fucking marvelous. I looooooooooove the work the artists have done on getting the shading of metal and wood just right. The geometric detail on bolts and nuts and hammers and bits and pieces is super impressive. They totally nailed the tiny details that bring the mechanics of the weapons together. Heavy and chunky.

The couple of times I've shown Hunt to people, their favorite part has been the 3D View for the weapons where you can zoom out and test all the gunshot sounds at various distances and view the gun model. Kinda funny. It is a really great feature to have though!

Still waiting on a Legendary version of the Nagant Officer Carbine...

100% agree. The models are fantastic and the reloading animations are sublime.

Love that feature. I find it legitimately useful to double check what certain weapons sound like over particular ranges, to get a feel for who is using what and roughly how far away they are.

Surprised there are a bunch of missing legendary skins for some of the gear. My mate is waiting for an axe skin. Sabres, machetes, and knives all have alts. Give us an axe!

It's so good. I love that on bolt loading rifles you can watch, in detail, new rounds loaded in and chambered. Everything is animated to look like it has hard moving mechanical parts and weight. Incredibly satisfying.

Hope there's a free weekend or discount on PS4. Would probably bite in that case and could use it to sway a couple of friends.

Sounds great. Satisfying gun effects/animations can really make all the difference.

The Sentinel was recently added to Apex. It's a bolt action sniper, and it's super satisfying to use. But it's not terribly viable right now due to it being the only bolt action weapon. Everything else is at least semi-auto, so it's only really useful for peeking at long range (i.e. it's the game's only real sniper rifle, lol).
It's fun to think that the playing field is a little more even in Hunt, in that everyone has to make every shot count.

It's an extremely refreshing meta, having 99% of the weapons in the game shoot and reload slowly, in addition to the overwhelming importance of sound making the audibility of shots something to consider too. It puts a great deal of focus and emphasis on the gun mechanics and function, which in turns enhances their feel of being powerful, heavy, deadly weapons.

I cannot adjust to the aiming. I tried, I really did. Spent hours and hours... acceleration and input lag. I deleted this for now. Will excitedly return if they fix the aim. It's an awesome game otherwise.

I would like to give it a shot, but it's to pricey to just check it out. At least on console. If this was console I would have tried it already.

I'm tempted to buy Hunt, but still, some posters in here make me hesitate due their negative impressions about the subpar controls. Is it really that bad to make the game unplayable?
I'm not sure about how much content i'm getting: two maps and three boss types is not excactly much... or does it sound only bad on paper?

Otherwise i'm liking all i hear and see about Hunt.

Console or PC? Haven't read any issues with the PC version.

from what I've been told it's not so much about the content as it is about the experience. You facing down with other hunters, having to go by the sounds they make. And there's a 4th boss coming according to the roadmap.

Having said that, I'm still debating whether or not to buy it, so I might not be the best person to speak about this game ^^'

The game is really not about the PvE at all. That fades after a few days. The real game is the PvP as eatchildren mentioned (I think).

At first I thought 3 bosses only sounded lame, but it's really not about the bosses or monsters at all.

The real game is hunting humans. Fighting over the bounties. It's addictive as fuck. If you want the lore you can read it in the game or wiki, but the real game like I said is the hunt for other players.

The game is dope as fuck in my opinion, but it's probably not for everyone. I hope you'll give it a try if you have a chance. I love it.

So what are the uses for Blood Bonds? I've got about 1200 right now and will probably pick up a legendary skin but I want to make sure I won't need those points for anything else later on.

It seems like the only use for Blood Bonds other than cosmetics is to unlock extra roster slots?

That and weapon cleaning (cosmetic only) or buy a health chunk if you lose some

On console, 30fps feels awful. Wouldn't say it's unplayable, but definitely feels clunky and slow. Which is a shame because everything else about the game seems so much fun. But I personally couldn't play for more than a couple hours before I gave up on it.

Is this on PC only? Haven't seen anything like that on ps4

In games I'm a hoarder by nature so I haven't been using healing items but now that I have started...Why would I buy a medical bag for $30 that only heals one bar of health when I can buy a syringe for only $10 that heals way more? Am I missing something?

I'm still in the training phase or whatever rank 9 I think so maybe that has something to do with it. Also since I have never been in a match long enough to find out does the game give you a warning when game time is running out? Like telling you only 10 minutes remain, if time does run out is it treated as if you died?

You can heal with the bag 3 times, 4 times if you are using a trait

The 3D viewer is on PS too

This was on my list for my game for the month, and the discount swung it. Downloading on PC now. Any new players want to group up let me know I'm GMT times.

I need to quit walking around bushes. I'm so use to playing EFT I dodge all of them and then step on a stick in this game.

As Gero said, the frequency of which you can use it and the three traits that benefit it. One trait can increase the speed of bandaging, the other doubles the amount healed, and another gives you a fourth bandage. While syringes are excellent for quickly getting your health back and a lot of it, they're done and dusted. If I only get nicked by a round a whole syringe is a bit of a waste. One bandage though and I'm back up to full health with resupplies too. Bandages are also useful for healing teammates if it comes to that.

I roll with one vitality shot and one set of bandages, and just swap between then depending on the situation. If I'm in a particularly nasty shootout and I get nailed so badly I nearly die, the vitality shot is a life saver. But the bandages, especially with traits, are what ultimately prolong long shootouts.

Peak garbage tonight, good grief. First two rounds were two bosses and completely empty. Every subsequent round me and my two mates got absolutely obliterated by extremely high tier players using custom character and weapon skins. The kind of players who just crack shot you the moment you're visible and seem to always have a bead on you. Was just a totally unsatisfying experience, but that's the way it goes. Then my mate's net cut out and that was the end.

Honestly that was one of the reasons i was excited for the PS release. Some of the PC players in this game are just... nuts. And there are the cheaters aswell. Beside the input lag issues which hopefully will be fixed im pretty satisfied with the PS4 port

I've been fortunate to only come across two players I'm very confident were cheating in the some 350+ hours I've played since Early Access. Doesn't mean there weren't more, but at least on the Oceanic limited servers there doesn't seem to be many. Kill shots might be absurdly frustrating but seem fair, usually due to them missing a shot or two and the line of sight still believable. The two standout cheaters were from awhile ago; one took three rifle rounds and an entire clip of fanning from me alone and did not drop, the other was teleport knifing, and in both situations our squad of three was killed. Those were obviously bullshit.

Otherwise we just find it's a mixed bag. I don't mind being bested as long as there's a bit of a shootout, a back and forth. But tonight was just boom, crack, dead. Over and over. No approach we tried worked, and we were smoked in every single scenario (stalking, attacking a bounty, defending a bounty, etc). Surgical precision and unbelievably coherent three player strategy.

It was fair, just not our night.
