I made an account on iOS to play the mobile version for 5 minutes when it first launched. Not sure I can do the account transfer because of that...or if that's just for steam people.

More like, low-rating reviews will be removed once MHY tells Google that those are brigaded.
Google has been known to clean up reactionary review bombing like that.
I believe you can do it as long as you use a different e-mail than the one you used when you made the iOS account. Don't take my word on it though, the PSN+MHY cross-save seems to be a bit of a clusterfuck to setup.
As in, if the app gets a low enough rating, it will be removed from the store?
Just download on iOS and log on with your MiHoYo account. If you have another account logged in already, just log off and log in with your PC account. That's all you need to do. Cross save is simple between PC and mobiles, just not the primogem purchasing.
EDIT: missed you started on PS4. You just have to link your PSN Genshin account in game to a MiHoYo account and then log in using that information on your iOS device.

Is there any sort of progressive luck involved in doing the same domain several times? It is the second time that I tried to keep farming on the same domain, and after the third or so attempt the quality of the drops dropped a lot.
I didn't test it enough to say anything, so it could and probably is just a coincidence, but it is funny to see it happen with two different domains (artifacts and materials) and in two different days.

Honestly having an anniversary where they don't give you a ton of free stuff is kind of unheard of in the modern gacha world. Even for a first anniversary.

I'm in the same boat, I've learned a long time ago that most social media sites when it comes to discussing certain video games are either terrible or completely lackluster. I may mostly lurk on this thread but it is pretty much the only place where I can tolerate any discussion on the game. It helps that a lot of the folks here are pretty cool so.

I never expected a free 5* or a bunch of free pulls, and I've seen the writing on the wall about the anniversary being shit for a while now, but before that became apparent I legitimately expected some kind of hype-generating content. Where are the skin and glider cosmetics? Or some kind of special anni banner? Resin cost reduction campaigns??? Hello????? Straight-up, if you aren't on social media you wouldn't even know it was supposed to be an anniversary anything going by what's in-game. :/
I was even still holding out hope for some surprise Paimon mail giving us like a couple hundred primos each day for a few days, like they've done in the past. But not even that, lmao...... Just what a shit show.

Issue is there are events planned, from the community streams to the upcoming concerts. I personally enjoy these content and am very excited for the concert but most Gacha Gamers are only in it for the free handouts during anniversaries.
It does put into perspective of the gambling nature of gachas. Are people playing for the game itself or the casino? It sure does seem like the latter.

This is probably the worst gacha anniversary ever and no that's not hyperbole. I get that this game is different and has way more content because of the open world and we can't auto battle things to grind but..... at the end of it all is just a really sad company that doesn't give a crap about their players. They didn't even do one thing to make this anniversary enticing in game.... nope let's just have a web event of your Genshin career. It was cool but it isn't enough. Mihoyo provides so much FOMO it is crazy and they just never give back and expect people will keep paying for this game. I have never been so happy to be f2p in a gacha ever in my life.

It's especially confusing because generous events generate more money than not having them. Like, you give people a free character, and the resource drain to build that character up incentivizes resin refreshing and pulling for constellations and weapons. You make artifact domains free for a week, engagement goes through the roof as every streamer tries to 24/7 the best artifacts and realistically the player population improves their dps maybe a whopping 5% overall. You make an temporary anniversary banner with more generous rates or all the best characters on it, people spend more on that banner.
This negative feedback and outcry going on is great, and I super agree with the fact that the rewards are shit.
Since I'm still F2P I couldn't care less about the anniversary rewards, but I take the spenders got offended by them? For me the only thought I had was "I'm glad I didn't spend a dime on the game". But sincerely it was expected. Mihoyo plenty of times showed they are stingy, but I wasn't expecting drama over it.
Artifact domains wouldn't even have to be free. Imagine their cost going down from 20 primos a run to 5 primos a run. (Or rather, just giving the condensed resin 40 value for 10 primos). Whew, that would be enough to get a lot of streams and gambas going.
