3rd place game is a shitshow, they need to drop it from all competition, forcing teams who were that close to the final to play a meaningless game is just another FIFA fuckery...
What? 3rd place on the world stage is HUGE, and far from meaningless.3rd place game is a shitshow, they need to drop it from all competition, forcing teams who were that close to the final to play a meaningless game is just another FIFA fuckery...
some of these teams are funded way less than others so getting that high of a finish is always a win3rd place game is a shitshow, they need to drop it from all competition, forcing teams who were that close to the final to play a meaningless game is just another FIFA fuckery...

It's just that no team ever really wants to play the match, let alone feel good about winning it. It's not so much as 'getting third' as it is 'missed the finals'.What? 3rd place on the world stage is HUGE, and far from meaningless.
The Swedish team seems preeeeetty happy about their win, so I'm not sure what you mean? It's just that no team ever really wants to play the match, let alone feel good about winning it. It's not so much as 'getting third' as it is 'missed the finals'.
I'm talking in general sense. The 'feel good about winning it' might not be entirely accurate, but in general the loser's final is not something players look forward to or want to play. You often see teams swapping out multiple players from the A-team, scores being inflated compared to other results and other issues. The Swedish team seems preeeeetty happy about their win, so I'm not sure what you mean?

I don't see how any of that applied to yesterdays game, so seems pointless to bring it upI'm talking in general sense. It's oftentimes a less serious match.
That's cool and all, but I wasn't the one who brought it up, I'm just reacting to the conversation just like you did.I don't see how any of that applied to yesterdays game, so seems pointless to bring it up
My comment where about the specifics in your comment I replied to. But sure, the whole idea, and not just your comment, about the third place game not being important is not something that I agree with or see how it applies to yesterdays game. That's cool and all, but I wasn't the one who brought it up, I'm just reacting to the conversation just like you did.
Not sure I would go that far. Netherlands is an attacking minded team so they are likely to give up some goals against the firepower of the USWe should win, but I wouldn't be surprised if we lost. All it will take is one mistake, and it's lights out.
