Seeing "Incomplete" in a lot of reviews for a game that's been in development for years is quite the word to be using.

Seems alright. Not day one, but a PC purchase further down the line. That's about what I was expecting. I still haven't played much of the first game.

Polarizing reviews? I'll probably love this game. I'll buy it at a discount later on tho.

Some DLSS, FSR and Ray Tracing benchmarks -> https://www.dsogaming.com/pc-perfor...2-nvidia-dlss-amd-fsr-ray-tracing-benchmarks/

The game can look gorgeous with Ray Tracing in some scenes. Here is one of the best examples of how RT can improve the game's graphics.

No Ray Tracing
Damn. Reminds me of Crysis. My PC is going to suffer.

I'm generally pretty console-centric - I only just picked up a gaming laptop mainly for the handful of games that are only on PC. I just prefer gaming on a couch with a big screen TV. But, given I'm seeing that the 4K and RT modes on Series X and PS5 apparently have big performance issues, and I'd be stuck playing 1080p/60 anyways, I'm wondering if I'm better off on my laptop. It's pretty good - Ryzen 9, RTX 3060, 16gb RAM. Looking like maybe that will give me a better 1080p/60 experience than Series X?

Yes, go PC.

Looks divisive. Seems a lot of the complaints are with the story and characters, and a lot of the praise is related to gameplay. Sounds a lot like the first game to me.

I expect the reviews will end up in the low 70's when the final tally is counted. With the amount of games dropping soon I will wait for a discount I believe.

Solid scores but far more middling than I expected. Probably a wait for sale right now.

With a lot of reviews saying the story isn't all that interesting, I wonder if they kept any of Chris Avellone's work before he was let go. His involvement was selling point back when this was announced.

Hopefully the day 1 patch addresses the console performance. Going to keep my pre order on Xbox since switching to New Zealand gives me plenty of time to try it while still being able to cancel said pre order. If it's not up to par I'll grab it on PC.

Some of the reviews 😳

Yeah honestly I vibe with this take hard. I wish I had more time to write my review and include these thoughts in there. I just couldn't find the words. Like the gameplay is really fun, but it is a game designed to really just waste your time in. I mention it in my video, but the bloat is a joke.

Okay, reading a few more of these reviews...I think I might just wait on a Steam sale. I was hoping this would be a good game to sink into until Elden Ring and Witch Queen later this month, but I don't just want another overly busy open world game filled with empty gaming calories. If the story and choices landed, I'd be down, but it sounds like the choices are extremely surface level.

Ultimately, it looks like this will be a fine purchase for half price at this year's Christmas sales. If the first game is anything to go by, Techland is going to be sticking around, bashing bugs and adding content.

mfw my graphics card is considered 'low-end' 😭

Defo not looking like a day one game, not that I was going to buy it anyway!

I still haven't played the first but might give this a try on discount, maybe Black Friday sales

Sounds like it's a great to amazing game with some bugs that some reviewers felt detracted from the game. I'll wait for a few patches and pick it up.

Quality feels best. I think it's very close to 60 or even 60, cannot tell and plus looks very good and crispy. Performance looks blurry, washed out and 1080p or so. RT is unplayable due high lag and has screen tearing

Thanks for this. I can take 1080p res as long as it's close to 60.

RT mode has screen tearing? Ew.

So I didn't play the first one, and I always confuse it with State of Decay, I think they're both zombie open world survival games (could be wrong xD), I wasn't expecting high scores (80+).
