I'm not convinced either, Dunkey's bigotry wouldn't be swept under the rug since anyone attempting to bring him up would have to be made aware of it.

Ah, like Era's favorite rapper Eminem who still uses that word to this day (even when featured artists on his tracks ask for him to remove those lyrics) and has over 50 threads dedicated to him on this forum. You can't ban Dunkey for his use of the f-word in 2017 if you don't ban Eminem who last used it in a song in 2018 to make fun of Tyler, the Creator. Hell, he made a song in 2019 where he's clowning on gay people.
If someone doesn't want to talk about Dunkey that's totally understandable and fine. There's a way to ignore the thread so you never have to see it again. People who don't want to talk about him also don't have to open the thread. You can ignore it without opening it. Personally I hate how much threads there are on Era about Trump because his actions and words just make me depressed. He's a person I truly despise and on top of that he is a well known racist. He as a person is awful, but so is censorship. So in the end I choose to just not open those threads and I ignore them. I'm not trying to compare Dunkey to Trump (lol), I'm just giving an example of how easy it is to ignore stuff you don't like. It's not that hard.

Honestly, the Snake Pass playthrough Dunkey did (think it was part of a compilation video) is one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
That's because the criticism has been based on a misunderstanding. Given that the admins had decided that Dunkey's content is allowed on the site, I thought the guy just didn't want to have to see Dunkey threads. I thought I'd help him out by letting him know about the ignore feature the same way someone did for me in the past.
I never told anybody that they aren't allowed to discuss his comments, or even that they shouldn't. Many people have been talking about Dunkey's offensive comments and I haven't said word one to them or tried to "dismiss" them. The poster asked the mod a question about how the site was being run and was ignored by that mod, so I thought I'd chime in and again let him know that there was a way for him to not have to see the offensive content, and also that he might have better luck discussing the issue with a mod via PM.
Really though, I'd appreciate if you'd stop trying to drag this incredibly strange diversion out. It is at worst a misunderstanding, one which I have explained and apologized for several times already.

Your initial comment felt disingenuous, and your refusal to acknowledge that it could be interpreted as such despite being called out multiple times prompted me to check your post history, which might be frowned upon but in this instance felt warranted, and finding out that you were, in your own words, a big fan of Dunkey's convinced me that you weren't arguing in good faith.
If this is all a misunderstanding, then I sincerely apologize and either way I won't bother you anymore.
It's funny because my two posts about Dunkey before this thread were criticisms of the videos that those threads were about, over a year ago and over two years ago respectively. "I'm a fan, but..." This was also before I was aware of his inflammatory and offensive remarks. And I did acknowledge that my comment could be interpreted the wrong way, which is why I've spent many posts in this thread apologizing for that and attempting to explain what I was actually trying to say. I normally wouldn't spend so many posts defending myself, but the mod post was very clear in saying that what you are accusing me of is worthy of being banned from the forum, and I really don't want that to happen.
I don't really think I'm some kind of prolific Dunkey stan, but I'm just going to bow out here as this has reached creepy levels now that we're trawling post histories.
I'm not going to lie "tell Santa you want ballz for Christmas" really got me! Like one kind of special cocaine did the marketing team do before thinking of that 😂😂

This guy has a very particular style of humour I find extremely and brutally unfunny. Seeing ERA gush over him made me give him a chance (thrice), but not even a chuckle. Well, at least ScotttheWoz makes me laugh. And doesn't seem to be a racist homophobic mofo.
This really makes me want to play Galaxy. Only played it for 30 min at a friend's house a long time ago.

Yep i feel the exact same way, guy isn't funny at all in my opinion. He also reviews games very badly, and unfortunately has a large audience so he can have an impact. His review for death stranding for example was really bad. I appreciate valid criticism of a game but he just took the piss out of it
Different strokes I guess. Dunkey is predictable but still mostly funny to me, while Scott Wozniak I find painfully unfunny and awkward, and whatever punchline he has can be seen from miles away. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I find Woz is super harmless and incredibly piratical (and not in a bad way) style of humour.
Dunkey is just weird haha I can understand why people wouldn't gel with it; for how light-hearted the genre is often meant to be seenm it's sorta ironic that comedy is such a hit-or-miss with different crowds.
