lil wayne in two thousand and twenty four is not a better performer than kendrick lamar. he would not have been a better choice. and since when did people give a shit about performers being from the Super Bowl city

wayne's brain is too fried for this, would've been better 10 years ago tbh

Funny enough they we in New Orleans a decade ago when Wayne was in his prime and Beyonce got the nod. There was nowhere near this backlash, it was more disappointment than anything.

Album has to be coming asap lol. This 100% was recorded in the past few days after all the cash money gang crashing out over his Super Bowl pick

Sounds like his latest reflection on the state of the industry, like the Heart series. Maybe he couldn't clear the sample so he dumped it on IG again.

Kendrick is threatening a cultural reckoning with this song. He's had themes of being critical about the bullshit within the culture his entire career, but this is bitter OG nigga who's reformed but still top of the game type vibe

Kenny threatening to bring the whole temple down so that it can start over and I'm here for it.

And he's actually got the juice to do it. Industry execs sitting up in their chairs right now, worried about what's coming next.

KENNY WE NEED YA

It's not but it's an extension of those songs because his issues with Drake tie directly into his read of prevailing elements in the industry. The influencers, the "glorified scamming," etc.

This, Drake is just the poster child of the problems he ultimately sees with the industry

So this is the fifth song and he should have five more in stock. What if he drops one per month until February with his Super Bowl performance

Track goes so hard. The beat and bars are heavenly in my car. I think Kenny is letting out his frustrations against the industry more than it being a Drake diss although some may interpret that way.

Song is dope but it's not a Drake diss. Given that it's been stated there won't be a Round 2, this thread is in strong consideration for retirement and a new one can be born if something else pops off.

This one isn't going to exist forever just to blog Kendrick drops if there's no beef.

This song redirects the conversation back onto him in a positive way. There's been all these unnecessary rants in Lil Wayne's honor that could have swayed sentiment on Kendrick. This blunts that talk completely.

Drake is gonna keep dropping subs like an idiot for a while so I'm not sure I see any reason to close this thread, could be fun to discuss
