I haven't been able to finish a Drake song since the beef. Like if I hear him on a playlist I hit skip instantly. He's like Limp Bizkit or Korn to me now lol

I can't even listen to the 3 new songs… the slow drum beat and crooning makes two of them hard to listen longer than several seconds 😩

All 3 songs are good and better than most stuff on his last 2 or 3 albums. 5/6 songs released have been really good, with Blue Green Red being a top tier Drake song.

Idk, man. Drake was in his bag on that scary hours deluxe FATD pack. This new shit ain't even that. There are solid slaps on Her Loss, Dark Lane Demo Tapes and CLB. Not buying the hype on this recent six.

Not sure I'd say all 3 songs charting after most of their listens happened when they were off streaming services a hard flop

Right… scary hours deluxe was great, had it on repeat. I finally cracked and listened to "It's Up" and 21 is the one with the better bars.

Maybe I'll try listening to the latest 3 again after I have some coffee. I really don't think Kenny is bothered, especially after Michelle Obeeze proped up MTG like that during the DNC.

These summer vibes have been 🥱

Curious what Drake could even do. A major problem is the public perception that's begun to sink in since the battle ended. Not even considering the PDF stuff (which looms heavy), but the "You never gave us nothing to believe in", the debunking of his dirt on Family Matters, and colonizer jab he took. Whatever he says from now on will always be taken with the bigger grains of salt. He's become the Peter Molyneux of Hip Hop. Unless he writes the greatest pop song ever written that somehow explains or dodges all his Sus behavior while simultaneously being catchy and club enough…

I've kind of accepted that Kendrick will likely go the Pusha T route and ignore the rest of Drakes jabs and subs from here on out. He already has the W, has one of the biggest songs of his career numbers wise, and basically has nothing else to prove. Only thing that Drake can really do to reignite this is speak on family again? that's a terrible idea.

omg Euphoria is so clean. didn't expect that one to hit marching bands lol

Woah woah... people were just talking about archiving this amazing thread as one of the great ones... and now... you are telling me we might be back?

I mean for Drake to try and come back after that beating and the pop out tour would be insane...
Dude is either surrounded by people who hate him and are telling him to go for it or him and his crew are delusional.

But if it means more Kendrick music, I'm here for it.
Though I think Kendrick just ignores any of it, as it was a clean sweep and he focuses an album roll out.

At least he admits he lost Game 1. I guess.
The smart thing to do, besides not engaging again, would be to keep this one above the belt like he could have gor the last one. Try to win on beats and bars and not on talking about Kendrick's family. It's not a strategy he's familiar with, but it's his best bet. Set a hard boundary for match 1's tone and set a new tone for match 2.

Take his loss in the opener to compartmentalize it all into a first round for the listeners so it doesn't matter how well or poorly he performed within the new context and then rap his ass off like his life depends on it because it does.

If he keeps it clean and Kendrick doesn't he can make the argument that that's all Kendrick has. If they both keep it clean and he still loses at least he can walk away looking respectable.

I don't think there is any aspect of approaching "match 2" that could be considered smart. It's just too inherently stupid of an idea all round lol.

Obviously. But his bottom line might be saying he's sunk if he leaves things the way they are. Even if he eats another L it could change the perception if the next one doesn't end in an anthem proclaiming him a pedophile.

Obviously too, the point I was making is that it's pointless to consider what the best angle would be if he /did/ keep going because it is such a terrible idea.

There is no angle of approach here that works for him.

I'm guessing Drake is gonna Drake and say shit like "I got more streams and sales so I win"

I hope Kenny drops a nuke of an album

I don't know, what can you do after the Meet The Grahams/Not Like Us combo? I'm sure Kendrick can surprise us but as it is I'm not looking forward to him releasing another diss track that would sound like a motherfucker beating a sandbag.

Drake would need to go low and even that would be a self-own. Even if he drops a good track how would people not go "huh, why didn't you release that BACK THEN, idiot"?

We'll see but I'm not sold on the idea of the beef part 2 right now.

It'll be funny if Kenny ignores him and makes Drake look desperate

As much as I would like more Kendrick tracks I think he should ignore. Unless something major happens there isn't any real upside.

NLU is still charting at like #3 and Drake already tried to do the whole "...why are you taking so long to respond" narrative and that failed spectacularly. It would be even less impactful considering it's now 3-4 months after NLU and Heart Part 6 flopped.

Idk if we'll get more diss tracks directly but I could see him doing some shit like having an album or mixtape ready to drop as soon as Kendricks album comes out to try to smother it. But like that's risky as hell because if that fails that's an even bigger L. And with all the momentum Kenny has right now I don't see how that would ever work
