I'm curious about the next main GTA game!

yeah the reactions calling these big file sizes are odd
people are gonna be shocked by the asset quality when they see Demon's Souls on a 4K TV
Yep, if they end up around 100GB normally.
Samsung and Sabrent's new NVME drives this year are supposed to have around 7 GBps transfer speed
Jesus. Honestly sounds like the expansion cards on xsx might be more affordablenothing yet officially but we know they need to be at least 7.0 GBps minimum transfer speed
Hmm. How fast do you think an external could swap backup installs to the main ssd?
Cerny talked about the elimination of redundancies in the context of loading speeds, not file sizes. In fact Cerny went out of his way to suggest using external storage for PS4 backwards compatibility to save room on the SSD.
They probably will be at the start, but presumably the PS5 SSDs will be cheaper after a year or two.Jesus. Honestly sounds like the expansion cards on xsx might be more affordable

It will to begin with. It also is far slower speed req. If XSX had an NVME expansion slot like PS5, then you could get a drive for it for about $120.Jesus. Honestly sounds like the expansion cards on xsx might be more affordable
This is why I can't got all in on digital and will get the regular PS5 with a disc drive. If I get the DE, I could fit about 5-7 games before I need to buy an NVME drive that cost half the system itself.
I mean were talking about an entire game filled with native 4K assets. If people were expecting like 30GB installs here I don't know what to tell you.
You can, you just won't be able to play them.
With Xbox Series S, Smart Delivery used correctly could keep file sizes down somewhat if Microsoft can convince its partners to actually utilize it. Series S and Series X versions of games with different assets to match their respective specs.
But we haven't had firm confirmation of this, and I think Smart Delivery is really only used by Microsoft's closer partners on the Xbox One X right now — most devs just still put out a one-size-fits-all file to install in my experience.
Yep. Hope the data transfer is fast.Better get an external hdd ready to store games you're not playing.
Which is great, why would anyone complain about this.
MS said this week that they expect Series S installs to come in around 30% smaller than Series X installs.
Games Can Be 30% Smaller For Xbox Series S, Saving SSD Space On Install Sizes
The Xbox Series S comes with a smaller SSD, but Microsoft has a solution that'll help keep game install sizes down.www.gamespot.com
So what were the options for extending the storage space on PS5 again?
Ah, so you can store PS5 games to external hard drives for back up right?
Thing is that will be up to the developers and Series S useable space will be closer to half of PS5 and way less than half when compared to XSX.MS said this week that they expect Series S installs to come in around 30% smaller than Series X installs.

I gotta get me an external hard drive for the PS5 then!
It's only like 768 (or something) usable GB's though.Hmm 825 GB usable space / 50 GB = 16.5 Spider Mans. Should last me a little while most likely.

15.36 Spider Mans is a dealbreaker.
Good point. I was wrong, thanks!
825GB won't be usable, more like mid-low 700GB due to the OS taking up space.Hmm 825 GB usable space / 50 GB = 16.5 Spider Mans. Should last me a little while most likely.
Couldn't even make the file size smaller on launch games, let alone later in the gen.
