really weird how people complain about the mean bernie bros and their mean online comments but then start putting millions of dollars into anti-bernie campaigns to put their hits on TV and the power imbalance just doesn't hit them at all
Ikr, people wanna talk about "mean." How about slandering people as brown shirts or claiming we're gonna start murdering people in central park?

Please explain the world of difference between the man that says Mexican immigrants are rapists and the man that says minorities aren't being stopped enough by the police.
Bloomberg has been pretty consistently pro amnesty for illegal immigrants, even when he was a Republican mayor. So on that basis, they are truly worlds apart.

gotta be honest, the constant trump/bernie comparisons are starting to piss me off

maybe comparing a literal fucking fascist to a minority whose family had to flee from nazi persecution is really fucking gross! maybe airing that shit out in the media is really fucking reckless! just maybe
Ive got a couple of coworkers who yesterday were saying how the right went extreme and now the left is going extreme too. I've been seething and trying not to lose my cool - but comparing somebody who wants more socialist policies to somebody who incites hate crimes and openly breaks the law is so fucking infuriating.

They are going to vote Trump no matter what. It's just posturing.

And what's meaner? A bunch of people being dicks online in the name of dramatic structural change, or advocating for vaguely (or concretely) bigoted candidates whose policies will (either actively or passively) ruin and end lives? The priority of ' c i v i l i t y ' over human life is disgusting, and it's the thing I despise most about liberalism in the US.

Telling people online to fuck themselves would sit a lot better with me than a vote for Bloomberg, Biden, Buttigieg, or Klobuchar ever could.

For 4 years the limousine Liberals of the party were trying to smear Bernie as sexist, now they invite a dude who refers to women as meat and has dozens of sexual harrasment suits under his belt.

Thomas Perez you hack.

If you gaze into the abyss and all that

But really it's that they have no scruples to speak of beyond attacking Bernie at all costs.

Centrists are breaking right like we on the left predicted, surprise!

You'll hear all number of rationalisation's for why it's okay to support Bloomberg in the coming months, it's going to be nauseating.

I've literally seen people who spent years complaining that Bernie isn't a "real Democrat" rationalizing that supporting Bloomberg is great without a hint of self-awareness. It's incredible witnessing it.

Agreed. If it comes down to a racist Republican vs. a racist Republican the only sensible move is not to vote.

I imagine that a Bloomberg nomination can literally only occur on a second ballot coup with Bernie having a plurality of pledged delegates. In that case, the party and any remaining integrity it has is obliterated (this is true no matter the substitute nominee if Bernie has the plurality, which he will).

So in absence of a compelling third party choice, I'll be staying home! In this hypothetical it would be great if Sanders leveraged his movement into such a run, but that's varying degrees of viable depending on who the party supplants him with. But in the case that it's Bloomberg, a Sanders third party campaign I think would be tremendously successful in the wake of the DNC self-destructing.

I'm starting to think that maybe supporting Bloomberg as the Democratic candidate in 2020 was a mistake.

This isn't even his craziest finger print policy proposal.

He wanted to put finger print scanners in front of apartments and housing complexes so that people could prove they were residents...

So, what's this persons message to the 15-20% of African American's who currently support Bloomberg? Because without POC support, Bloomberg can't get anywhere, no matter how many mysterious white PMC liberals are supposedly supporting him, according to the Left.

Ok, what is the point of this? Are we not allowed to criticize his racist policies? Are we not allowed to do anything about them? Because there is a percentile of minority support? How low does this minority support have to get before we are allowed to criticize him?

Seriously?

Did you just stop after "Dear white people" and vomit out your "but some black people will support him" as a reflex? One tweet was too much for you to read?

How dare people of colour think they have the right to speak up and comment on the party instead of sitting in the corner silently waiting for the liberals to issue an invite to the self-congratulating diversity photoshoot.

Some allies you are.

Attack Bloomberg all you want, he's terrible, but at the moment, I'm sick 'n' tired of Sanders supporters who have no problem accepting Joe Rogan supporters because "we need them to win" (which is false), attacking every Democratic voter slightly to the right of them as a secret racist, because they aren't on board with the revolution.

If the primary is Bloomberg vs. Sanders and it's close, I'll have no issues voting for Bernie and against Bloomberg. But, to get to that point, it's going to take a lot more than the mythical #Resistance lib vote to get Bloomberg close to that in places like Georgia, Arkansas, Texas, and such.

I don't support Joe Rogan and his supporters, Fuck Joe Rogan. BUT BLOOMBERG HAS A NOTED HISTORY OF RACISM! How the hell did you get to "stop attacking supporters!?!"

It would actually be interesting to see a full write up on if Bloomberg or Joe Rogan has said more openly racist/transphobic things.

Of course he does.

Which makes a Tweet that says, "Dear White People, if you get an itch to justify Bloomberg to a black person who decries the harmful impacts of his policies which are still active TO THIS DAY, don't. Destroy your pussy hats. Burn your #trustblackwomen tees. Cancel your plans to attend the unity gala. And don't,." kind of silly because it says nothing about Bloomberg's incredibly racist and sexist past. Instead, it's getting angry at mythical women marchers who may or may not exist.

I do so enjoy the attempts to silence the minority support in this thread attacking Bloomberg by waving a statistic in our faces. Very appreciative. Makes me feel very welcome here.

last i checked, joe rogan didn't militarize a police force and use it to target minorities. bit of a flawed comparison there mate.
