Deathloop Review Score Prediction Thread

I know a lot of people were tired of seeing it at Sony shows, myself included, but I think Deathloop will be a critical success and land in the 90-94 range!

The game is already out in the wild and the impressions have been fantastic.

I think critics will enjoy it, but audience reception will be mixed, partially because the unusual structure will confuse or frustrate some players.

Mid 80s likely imo. Maybe a little lower by people who couldn't be bothered with the puzzle time loop aspect, giving it a slightly lower score than may have been otherwise? Lots of critics will probably love it, but a few low scores will stop it from getting super highs.

I'm on the second playthrough of Dishonored 2 and sitting at 20 hours on the second to last mission.

I'd guess low-mid 80s, firmly between Dishonored 2 and Prey on Metacritic.

It plays a lot like those games, and the structure is interesting enough that it makes it feel fresher.

I just saw a video from Alanah talking about the game and she's 5h in and still doesn't have much of a clue about what's going on and how to find a solution to kill all targets in the same day.

So nah, it'll easily be way longer than that.

I think it'll be 80~84. I hope with the extensive marketing Sony/Bethesda gave it it sells well. Can't wait to play it when it hits Game Pass/Xbox next year.

It's a nitpick of mine but I can't help to say that this looks like Bioshock mixed with practically every-other FPS game ever made. Absolutely nothing new or groundbreaking. IMO, it's MEH at best. But cool for everyone into it. I hope you enjoy it.🤘🏼

There is no progression that carries over from one run to the next? I was under the impression that there were. It's not my cup of tea either way.

When people say "it's not a roguelite" I think they mean nothing in the game is randomized - similar to Outer Wilds.

Late 80's.

Arkane is a very accomplished dev, they are working in their wheelhouse design wise here (single player fps with powers and a deep storyline), and there's a decent amount of cash on the line with Sony throwing weight behind it (at least pre Bethesda sale).

I can see elements not working 100%, but I can't see them dropping the ball and it being 'noble failures' you can ignore
