Yeah. In BO4 you can tell that they balanced the game's TTK around Blackout first and then transferred it over to MP. So the healing system, everything was tuned so that Blackout TTK and feel would be seamless with the MP side. This is what worries me about MW's BR mode when it drops...If the TTK is exactly the same as the MP in this game then it'll be a horrible experience.
Games like Halo, Apex and Destiny are always way more rewarding when you kill a player because it actually take some work and skill. COD has always been a twitch shooter and that's what helped make it so popular but it never felt this unforgiving.
If SBMM wasn't implemented in Apex I probably wouldn't have left that game but it ruined it for me. Maybe it's just going to take more time to really get used to this COD vs BO4 where it was instant (due to Blackout).
So I've been playing on my buddies Xbox and yo...private lobbies while tweaking the HP to 130 feels fucking amazing. It feels closer to BO4, maybe even slightly longer but it's the closest setting to it. Try it out with a party if you can, and be amazed by how aggressive you can play. My lobby of 6 collectively agreed on how fun firefights actually were because we could take 1 bullet and still challenge the opposition. We also agreed to keep it a stim pack only for the tactical just to further replicate the feel. We're just trying to figure out a good field upgrade thats similar to BO4s specialists. But yeah HP 130 and Stim packs for tacticals was the absolute funnest time I've had with the game. You REALLY feel the gunplay.
Loadout editor only shows black ops for me, I don't believe they work for mwI'm having a weird issue with the mobile app. I have my xbox and psn account linked to my activision account. In the mobile app, the loadout editor and heat map stuff never loads for when i'm on the PSN account. When i switch to xbox, they load without issue.
I had blops4 for xbox and modern warfare on ps4. Are those features not supposed for MW or something? Logging out and back in doesn't do anything.
It's not their CM's fault. Not sure how to phrase this without throwing shade, but CMs are relatively low in the hierarchy and aren't actually in charge of communications policy. Usually they're beholden to the marketing head, studio head, executive producer, or some other lead.I hope 2020 is a real turning point for IW with the communication with the community. If not they better hire a better community manager and promote someone to Joe's position.
Summary
-SBMM is still the same.
-Average lobby K/D of his dummy account was much lower than those of his main account.
-Encountered the most Christmas noobs on dummy account.
-Did see some Christmas noobs on main account but those were actual good players.
-Found that host does have some effect on SBMM if a group is made up of different skill levels.
I don't really get the whole thing around SBMM. It sounds like pretty basic matchmaking we've had since Halo 2. What are we trying to prove with all this? They've always taken into account connection and some sort of ranking derived from a combination of metrics.

The term Christmas noobs just refers to someone who are new to the game due to low rank or low hours played. The 'christmas noobs' met on his main account were quite likely to be smurfs, I would think.

They could be smurfs, or they could be CoD fans who just waited till Christmas to get the game.

I like how the community was convinced this would be going the realism route and "I'm so tired of these childish camos catering to the childish Fortnite crowd. Thank god IW will cater to real gamers with nitty gritty camos."
Pink anime oden : okay.
I know that the holidays I don't expected anything but something needs to change in 2020 though.I don't think their communication is the best, but a lot of folks expecting detailed roadmaps around the holiday were just asking for disappointment.
Hell, even before that it was the rainbow dragon camo (which I love using while leveling up guns)
I do wish they would give better heads up on certain updates and also not leave certain changes out of the patch notes.I know that the holidays I don't expected anything but something needs to change in 2020 though.

But anyone expecting "communication" about SBMM, radar, footstep audio, or camping are setting themselves up for disappointment.
SBMM isn't for us so I don't think there will be much communication on it, but the rest they might be.
As for SBMM it just relates to player retention. When developers talk about player retention the crucial time points are typically 7, 14, 30 and 90 day retention. The point is, if you're still playing for 90 days, if you're playing Call of Duty games year on year, and especially you're engaging with the MTX. The complaints about SBMM on reddit and the like are almost unanimous, but those players just aren't who they're targetting with SBMM because they're already engaged.
Ultimately it's about putting that first time player experience in front of the experience of long term players for the sake of better early retention and MTX conversion rates. I don't think they'll speak meaningfully on this unless it starts to damage their brands reputation or something, which seems unlikely in the long run. Though it does seem to be all that everyone's talking about right now.
So I think I've gotten 2 or 3 gift packs but still havent got this one yet, dafuq
My friend has gotten multiple free bundles and I haven't gotte

This is interesting. Thanks for the info here.
So basically, SBMM is only hurting the most dedicated and engaged players. I'm going to bet these are the players who are spending the most on MTX too. Respawn's Drew McCoy was infamously quoted on Reddit as saying (paraphrasing here) "The majority of you are a bunch of freeloaders". He then made a comment later on about how doing sales on items "barely moves the needle" because the people who are going to buy items will buy them full price anyways (again paraphrasing here).
So the question then becomes: Does SBMM ultimately end up turning away the very people that financially support the game? I'll tell you my personal answer - I didn't buy a single item of the new Holo-Day Bash in Apex and it wasn't because the quality wasn't there....It's because I don't know how much longer I'll be playing the game.
This destroy 15 vehicles with launchers is fucking impossible! It seems it's only apcs and tanks and nothing else.
yet trying to blow them up is nigh on impossible with three rockets
Find a ground war map and destroy ATVs on your side of the map. They count
I already read through and posted in the SBMM thread in gaming discussion, so you don't need to explain it to me.SBMM isn't for us so I don't think there will be much communication on it, but the rest they might be.
do they?
edit: do they have to be enemy ones? Just tried ones in my spawn and not one counted
Damn, I wonder if they patched that for camo challenges. It's been awhile since I did it.
Or maybe they can't be in your spawn, I know I did a challenge last week where I needed to destroy 10 vehicles and I just destroyed ATVs, they might have been close to a capture point though.
Just hit Level 10. Like most COD's - the game is growing on me and ofcourse, just like most COD's, it'll probably start to annoy me at some point down the road once the honeymoon period wears off. For now though, I'm really liking the gunplay/shooting mechanics and sound effects. Graphically it looks incredible on my Xbox Slim. I haven't even created a custom class yet. Been just running with the burst fire on the standard assault class.
The gunplay is good until you realize that the best weapons with the best attachments remove the gunplay and just turn things into lasers. Then you're just playing Star Wars.Just hit Level 10. Gonna offer an alternate opinion here, as I agree that it's harmful to the playerbase, but I disagree on the reasoning.I had a post on here over a month ago about this same topic. Here is a snippet of my take on it (spoiler it backs up everything you say. )
"Your hardcore crowd spends way more money long term than your casual crowd. I have a hard time believing the casual crowd played BO4 as often as I did into August. It seems they are throwing the middle finger to the people who are spending dollars, to chase the people who spend pennies. It makes no sense at all to me other than misguided greed. Activision is so reliant on this franchise that it pretty much is the whole portfolio by itself, which has forced them into this path to get every last cent out of everyone, while not realizing they are alienating the ones who purchase the bulk of their micro-transactions."
